Stat I have some extra Bally 5500 coin trays. Drop by the house and it's yours. There is allso a couple of pretty good size Wells-Gardner monitors out in the storage trailer. Your welcome to one of them if it fits your machine.  Some of the parts I bought in Tucson last year, what thay fit I have no idea.  When I get back from the NASCAR race tomorrow. I'll get you the part numbers if you want them.  Buzz

Thanks Buzz.   wave

Unfortunately, the Gamemaker is smaller than the ProSlot, so the coin tray would be too wide. The monitor is a 13 inch touch screen. I'd have to read the manual to find out what brand/model it uses, or someone might post. Give me a call when you have a chance anyway. I have something for you as well.

I have had a few varieties of gamemakers, small(intermediate) cabinets, proslot S5500 style cabinets, large(new style) cabinets.  My current machine is the S5500 style, that's where I must have been thinking the coin tray might work, didn't mean to mislead.

Thanks,
Wayne

They look good. The 5500 cabinet style is a good fit. propeller

The second picture looks like a V7200 if I have processed all of this new information correctly, and as I understand it, the only difference is the placement of the dbv. So my question is, why did they need a new MPU board for the change? Are there any other differences between the V7000 MPU and the V7200 MPU?

btw, you might as well delete the 0k files that wouldn't upload. stir the pot / get cooking

Yes the second is a V7200, with a WBA13 and a ticket printer.  The boards are the same (V7000, V7200).  The V8000(Gamemagic) board is different.

Thanks,

So am I correct in my understanding that if I want extra boards for quick swapping, I can buy either board and not worry about it?

From what I've read, the v8000 boards will work in my machine as well, and are less expensive. If I got a v8000 and the extra sound card, would I need anything else to run a Game Magic theme like 99 Bottles?

Stat, the V8000 boards will work in your machine but does not support the generic sound. Although I don't have one, I believe the Gamemagic uses a CD for game and sounds, so there is obviously some other hardware needed. Also the Gamemagic uses an elongated monitor similiar to the Odyssey. The deluxe sound card will only work with the dedicated games like Boxcar Bonus, Platypus, etc.

What he said ^^^^^^^

Also, when I had my gamamaker I had 4 boards with trays all loaded up with different games on them.  The gamemaker is one of the easier machines to swap games in and out of.  Just swap them out and turn the machine on.

Thanks everyone. Hail applause

If the v8000 used an elongated monitor, then my screen graphics would probably look awful, even if I did add the hardware. I think I'll table that for now.

So if I want to make backups of my chips for safekeeping, how fast does the EPROM need to be? (What's the slowest speed I can get away with?) I'd rather not have to peel the stickers off of my chips to find out.

With all these video machines you are safe with 120ns chips.  I wonder if any of our counter silencers work on the gamemaker, or maybe you can just disconnect them?  That is if course if you dislike the ticking sound.

I've been playing mostly $1 and $5 games and I enabled double up on all games and a progressive on a few, so I'm playing from $5 to $100 per game and more -- Triple Trouble Poker is set up at 20 coins and BJ takes 10, and double up wagers count as coins in. The counter is slow (6.67/sec or 400/min = $20/min) so it ends up running for one to four hours after I stop playing. arrow Duh!

I was looking closely at the burn in and I can see a 5c burn in the lowest right corner, so this machine spent most of its life as a single denomination machine. The 22 mains in there now must be a fairly recent addition.

<ADD> Regarding the 120ns chips, that's about what I expected. It looks like I'll have to go shopping before I can do anything with the machine, as the 512's I have are 200ns and only good for the 10Mhz S+ boards.

Didn't you participate on the flash based eproms from the group buy a while back? (27SF512) Those are rated at 70ns.

Statfreak

The SST 27SF512's from mouser are 1.45 or less in depending on quantity.
They will work great, and if you have a S+ and use a  16Mhz board, they do decrease the speaker noise form the 16Mhz boards.

Nope.

Here they are.  There's a note that they will no longer carry them; however, they do have 14,000+ as of this writing.  Get yourself 100 of them @ 1.16.  They are great, easily erased (no more UV Baking) and they are fast 70ns and you can use them for your S+.

Thanks Rick.  applause

It looks like I'll either need to buy 100-1Mb chip or 100-2Mb chips, since the Gamemaker uses both 512k and 1M equally, and occasionally requires 2Mb. The price differences for lower quantities are big enough that it doesn't make sense to buy smaller quantities of different sizes.

Stat, don't forget though you can burn a 512K file onto a 1 meg chip with no offset, but I do not think you can burn either onto a 2 meg eprom for the personality (game) chips. The Gamemaker uses the 2 megs for early Mains and most of the Graphics chips are 2meg.

Oh well, I guess that I'll have to overpay for the 2Mb chips I need. I'll have to buy some 4MBs & 8MBs eventually as well for my Dotmation machine.
