Hi. I am new to this group. I  have a Double Diamond deluxe -It had a bad battery when i bought it. replaced it.-ran clear and set chips and all is ok excepted that the dba wont take bills. it's a DBV-45-SS-6031-BO22    It looks like the connector on the top left rear has 2 wires-one red, one green- these look like they were clipped and moved. they are located from back to front order- green in bottom first and red in bottom 4 ? Is this correct? ( it looks like they were-green in top row 4th spot-and red bottom row 5th spot-could this be the problem?     All else looks good and goes thru set up cycle.  Thanks, Matt

Matt,  that wiring is correct.  Is the head and transport cycling when power is applied?  Sure you set the bill validator correctly when using the set chip?  Do you show 9_1 when you review options in test mode? Is the denomination selected?  These are just some of the things that can cause the BV not to work.

did the bill acceptor work prior to the battery going dead?  if so, and you haven't changed any chips , then it has to be a setting.

either 9_1 or  test 6 the denomination value. depending what SP chip you have will determine how to get to these tests.

the two wires in question will not cause this problem. they are an enable for the light panel that will lite up the yellow decal on the BV housing. the unit will work if this plug is not connected.

Thanks to both of you for your help. It is working now. I did the set chip again and it works. Only takes a dollar or a hundred dollar bill=can this be upgraded to take the newer bills? Thanks, Matt

Upgrading the bill head to a DBV200 will allow you to take all the bills in circulation except for the new colored $5.  Upgraded heads run about $75 or so.
