I bet it has blinky lights on it!

And I bet it goes "beep beep beep beep"  like something out of Star Wars!
I send the guy a message...wonder if he'll reply?

I've seen devices like this on a Vegas Cheaters show. It slides down the coin chute and then flashes synchonized light pulses to the coin optics faking out the machine simulating coins being inserted. It flashes at a breakneck speed and the credits rollup quickly.
The original inventor was busted in New Jersey, caught redhanded on a slot machine.

Hope it's worth it cheating a slot and then spending years behind bars!  Silly Me!

I have no desire to be locked up but it would be neat to find out how effective it is with our older home machines.

My understanding of these is that they faked out the hopper.
When a win is triggered the hopper motor runs until it correctly counts the number of coins, with the intense light, which is tuned to the frequency of the hopper optic the receptor doesn't register the coin passing by the optic.

I believe IGT defended against these by moving the hopper optic further back and changing the shape of the hopper bowl to block some of the light.
I also think the U shaped optics were upgraded on many with resessed optics. There were also other anti-cheat tactics employed such as the coin out time out. If the motor runs for xx seconds without registering a passing coin it errors out.

Of course in todays world - TITO kills this off all together.

I think the only person cheated here is whoever buys the $200 flashlight.

Highly doubtful this could "add credits" per the claim.

I'm guessing what cheating device they are selling. The one I described was called "The Tongue" and it was used in games that would allow credits to added by inserting additional coins.
The hopper optic blinding device was called "The Monkey Paw". It was two wires, a small watch battery, and an LED.
They may now have adjusted the time-out period, not sure.
Believe the thieves using the Monkey Paw would shutoff the light about every ten seconds and allow the machine to count a coin or two and then blind it again. So if there were 80 credits on the machine they could get about a 10-1 increase in payout.
As you said Jay, they have added extra security measures to todays machines to prevent these devices from working.

It would be neat to see how effective they were on home machines except here in Nevada just having possession of such a device is jail time!!!! Guess I'll pass.

Advertising cheating devices on Craigslist is about as stupid as it gets. Buying one from Craigslist or even trying one even dumber!!

Anyone recognize the maker of this one?  I looked at it today and forgot to write down the maker.

http://sandiego.craigslist.org/csd/tag/3652683480.html

Are parts readily available?  I noticed that it's missing the reset switch.  Here are some pics I took.

There were some wiring connectors down in the left rear corner next to the power supply that had no place to plug in.  On the underside of the cabinet where the main circuit board is located are some studs.  It looks like there is supposed to be something there  (maybe where those wiring connecters were supposed to plug in?)

When the guy plugged it in the display on the front door that shows credits available, credits won, etc. did not power up.  Also, I smelled something wrong and flipped open the door of the section where the circuit board is and saw tendrils of smoke.  I told him to unplug it quick.

When I asked him his lowest price he said $200.  I passed on the offer.

Looks like a sigma Treasure Wheel. I think Buzz uses them as boat anchors when he runs out of CDS machines

Yes, it is a Sigma. Used to play those about 15 years ago in Vegas. That one gives free spins.
Here's a video of one; <a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/L0-Y20avvcY&rel=0" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/v/L0-Y20avvcY&rel=0</a>

Defiantly a Sigma Treasure Wheel...I do have some parts for it...It sounds like he toasted the MPU board and/or the power supply...Was the MPU board mounted on a tray?...If it was not, it sounds like it touched the metal casing...They are available...I have some that are untested and I don't have anymore Sigmas to try them...I think "Rudysdeals.com" has some...Not sure...Once running, they are fun machines...Are all the other parts there?...Reset key switches are easy to get...Also, you can probably get a working one for that price...

Dinoman - This slot didn't say Treasure Wheel,  it was a "Free-n-Easy"  Is that a variant of Treasure Wheel?  I'm pretty sure the mainboard was on a tray.  The red, white and blue background on the upper glass is coming off at the edges.  Plus, it's missing the panel below the door where the coin tray mounts (its missing the coin tray too.)

I wish I could get a working Treasure Wheel for that price...  Any kind of slot is rare in SoCal...  There is a Treasure Wheel here about 1 1/2 hours north of me for $550 ->  http://inlandempire.craigslist.org/clt/3658726284.html

"Free N Easy" & "RWB" is the game theme...the top part is the same as a Treasure Wheel ( They made "Treasure Wheels" & "Treasure Tunnels")..It is a Sigma SG150...Not as good as a SG300 in my opion...If it is missing all that you say, I would pass on the deal unless you can get it for under $100...I do have the coin tray...

i got a device that can cheat the slot machines at the casinos to jackpot the machine or give it free credits. its pretty small device it fits in a cigarette box so you could hide it easily.selling it for $200 obo. call or txt 909-685-8523...

I sent an e mail asking how it works! Here's the reply... I didn't respond yet.

All you have to do is find a slot machine to play on usually works on old slot machines with the coins. You insert the money and press on the button and zap the area where the money is inserted or anywhere where it has metallic.I have the manual on computer file i can send it to you if you want.

You've got to get him to send you the manual and post it on here... Ask him for proof it works by going to his local Casino and demonstrate and videoing it with his cell phone.

The Craigslist ad is still up, but I don't want to contact the seller anymore.  I'm curious, though,  how it "works" (if it does) just from a technical point of view. I always found it interesting to see what was developed/modified for machines once a cheater was found. So...whoever want to, go right ahead and then tell us! Maybe NOT post this "instruction manual" here on the forum though! Or put "for educational purposes only" which, in my opinion is very true. Comments anyone???

I've seen these before, I actually had one (out of the US, down in Jamaica) and it would cause the credit meter to ring up credits as if coins were being inserted. These are really designed for Cherry Master machines and similar  "gaming" machines.

I've also seen a device that tricks older bill acceptors into thinking a bill was inserted when it really wasn't.

Another trick people have done is removed the security strip from a $5 bill and carefully tape it to a $1 bill, this works on older bill acceptors but new ones have likely been updated to detect this. The person would spend the $5's at a convince store or similar place where a clerk might not notice the strip being removed.

IF you must try this, do it to one of your machines and not a casinos.

Is this guy selling a slot machine or a door??? It amazes me how people will list something expensive, like a slot machine, and put up the crappiest picture ever. Maybe he was drunk...laying on the couch, when he decided to sell the machine!
love whiskey

This slot machine is very well built, it accepts bills, originally accepted coins but there is no coin tray and the coin hole seems to be plugged. It is technically a 5 cent machine but it takes $100 bills it has a ROM computer boot up process, cost over $12,000 new, was purchased originally by the Veijas Casino and resort in San Diego. Very fun to play! has the lever to pull too! The stand is also very nice & well built and included also CALL / TEXT

*Please don't low ball me because you've seen slot machines for cheaper. Just because you've found a blazing 7's machine for $400, this is a 9 REEL industrial grade Vegas slot machine. Only 9 Reel I've seen on the market period point blank.
*This machine weighs well over 500 lbs & requires a team lift of four or more.
*Willing to trade for a wrist watch, preferably gold.

He forgot to add that as long as the machine keeps working you'll be fine, because if something breaks the parts are harder to find than hens teeth. And I'd personally take the Blazing 7's for 4 bills. Much better quality machine than that 9 reel game. Seems like I've seen that particular machine for sale on craigslist before for about $500, wonder if it's the same one Scratch Head
