Title: WBA-13-SS Which protocol is this?
Post by: MarkInAz on May 23, 2012, 05:38:10 AM
Greetings,

How do I decode this label.  I've got this WBA and don't know much about them.  The label on the head reads:
 L0305142775
 WBA-13-SS
 USA-501-00-129
There are no other decal or label.  Is not the -00- in the position where one would find the interface (ID, protocol) ?

Thanks in advance.
Mark

The number on the head is really not going to tell you. Because they are interchangeable, and the program is stored on the CPU board in the transport. Does the transport have an EPROM? If so the protocol will be on that. ID-0xx. If the transport is a Flash memory, (WBA-10 or WBA-12) you can tell by just powering the unit up. If the unit cycles, it is most likely ID-024. These will self test on power up whether in a game or not. ID-003 usually requiers a reset command from the game. If you have an IGT game you can do this test by disconnecting the 5 pin harness to the BV. The 5 pin is for communications with the game. The 2 pin is power and the 4 pin is the bezel light. You only need power for this test.
Hope this helps, short of a test power supply that you connect to a computer, this is the easiest test.
