   Multi Denom Touch Pad (S2000)
« on: August 23, 2008, 02:28:48 PM »

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I just installed some new chips on my S2000 that allows the multi-denomination.  When I re-set the machine, only one LED behind the $.25 lamp was lighting up.  At first, I figured that somehow I messed it up.  Then I realized it had something to do with the multi-denom that the new chips allow.  I have since figured it out to get the rest of the LEDs to light up, but it got me thinking of just making it into a multi-denom machine.

Now to my question....do I already have the capability to do this?  Is the touch hardware already pre-installed on these machines?  Do I just basically need to get a multi-denom sticker for the front panel?  I've searched through the forum first to see if this was previously addressed, but really couldn't find anything.  Yet, I can't believe I would be the first to ask this.  Anyone know?

Thanks

You need a few things to go multi (take a pix of what you got now) but first off you need the MD 7 Seg Display board, then you need the MD bar that supports the MD plastic BOX.  The Plastic box has an LED board inside and attaches to the 7 SEG board via a small connector wire, the touchpad has a sensor board which plugs into the LED board.   In front the sensor board is the plastic denom card (1C 5C 25C 50C ETC) it's transparent.  Also inside the multi-denom box is 2 dividers which box off each area (there are 4 if 4 denom are used) The dividers just box off the light behind them etc.

So when I just want 1 denom with the box I use a regular white denom in front of the sensor board and remove the sensor wire to the LED box.  Just setup 1 denom for 4 buttons and each box will light up.  Under the config for touch panel you can set it for 1,2,3,4 buttons for the 1 denom.   Setting up the multi-denom can be tricky but you must assign a game % to each denom then a button (touch square) for that game - Game 1 is 25 cents at 95% on button 1 (I might have the order of things to do mixed up but you get the idea)

Thanks, DJH...

I just took a look and it looks like I have everything EXCEPT the (brown) sensor board.  I have that white box, and it is plugged into the 7 seg unit.  But, on the back of the white box there is a small, unused, pin connector.  So it's just as simple as getting one of those sensor pads?

Curious..... did you gever get the part you needed?

I have one that is missing the same parts... : the touchpad, wire, and the 4 part cash display (for the glass)

Where might a guy go about finding those?

I recently seen the 4 part cash display on Ebay...I'll have to look around as to where but you should find it using a  search in slot machine parts and accessories

You need a 6-6-3 type 7 segment display to use the touchpad, that is where the wire on the side of the Green LED Board goes to, there is a touchpad sensor, then the visual legend that goes next to the glass (with a small cable to the front of the LED board (from the bottom connector of the LED Board),

I have a s2000 which the muli touch pad stopped working.  It gets locked on the $1 and will not go back to the 25 cent one.  This was working previously.
I was able to switch it to the 25 cent but is soon switched back to the $1 one.  Any ideas.
