What am I getting into if I buy a nice Bally 6000 kit and
try to install it in my ProSlot5500? Scratch Head
What works and doesn't? Help
For example: Does the glass fit? Chips?
I've never seen a Bally 6000 up close.
Here's the Belly glass I was looking at>>>

I wanted to buy these Bally 6000 kits some guy was selling on eeebayyy.
But I only have a Bally5500 ProSlot.
I didn't buy the kits yet...I just wanted some advice.
I don't know if you can stick an 6000 kit into a 55000 machine?

This is what I know about the Bally EM's...They are classics really... yes
The Bally EM's that were here at one time were very hard to up keep...
from what I heard about them but I wasn't here at that time... Tongue Out
Maybe I would have liked them...so I must regress digress? I dunno...
how about take back what I said about EM's ? lol
I should update it to>>> ( Maybe I'd like one....lol)

I didn't know anything about the newer "V" platforms you mentioned.
Cripes there's a lot of different machines!
I know of also:
Mills ( My next lifetime. Maybe I should get one now and store it in a time capsule.)
Konami ( No idea....anybody have one? Sounds like an Atari, or Coleco game....lol)

Hi Mark,
Some S6000 games will work in an S5500.  The top glass, belly glass, reel strips and personality chips are interchangeable, however the reel glass is different.  Many of the s6000 games were carry overs from the S5500, so any that were originally S5500 will work.  I would normally do the opposite since I prefer the S6000 platform over the S5500.

Thanks,
Wayne

Well, I got a couple of lucky breaks today...
One guy wants to trade me his Bally 6000 for one of my 2 Bally Proslots and
another guys is selling me 2 fully complete 6000 kits!
This was a very lucky Friday indeed!
Thanks for your help on this!
Whether these kits will work in the new baby works remains to be seen
but at least I am trying to fulfill my goal of owning at least one machine of every platform! lol

Did you get these?

The deal is good as gold a69mopar!
We both just waiting for safer driving roads....lol
As far as the 2 game /glass kits, one got sold but I may
still make an attempt to pick up the other one which is pretty neat.

I'm also waiting on a power supply to arrive from the ProSlot 5500.
Darn thing won't put out any power to the deck lights.
I did continuity tests on the harness all over the machine
thinking it was a bad ground or something...
I changed known good harnesses and known good MPUs and
even swapped the backplane board...nothing!
Finally I swapped the power supplies and voila! There it was ...
something wrong with the PS!

Something is shot in the PS but I'm not sure what part went out on it...
I'm thinking it's a low voltage rectifier or some diode that
dumbs down 1115VAC to like whatever DC volts the deck bulbs need.

I'm amazed at how the PS is so very similar to a pinball machine PS really.
My Stern pinball PS has a lot similar parts to the Bally 5500 PS.
Not only that, the Bally 5500 PS has a tiny little sticker on it that says...
lol,.... you're not going to believe this unless you see it...>>>"Stern"     Tongue Out

So Wayne how about a S5500 in a S6000.  A guy on ebay has a BALLY BLAZING 7S ROUND TOP GAME KIT  from a bally 5500 and I was wondering if it would work in my S6000.  Thanks Mike

I saw that kit, pretty cheap, I believe it was Darell (slots4home) if memory serves correct.  The top glass, reel strips, and personality chips (U18 and U20) will work, the reel glass is different, but you likely don't need that.  If it was the kit I saw, it came with the meter attached to the top glass.

Thanks,
Wayne

I just looked at his auction and I think it includes the progressive controller also (he said cables and power supply)  He is a member here.  If it were close to me, it would have a bid on it by now.  ask him about the progressive controller, I bet it's there.  There is a pic with the controller, not sure what type.

Thanks,
Wayne

here is a pic of that kit in an S6000
