The player tracking and glass support that I was using had a definite surface for the glass to sit on.

1.  The new one to me (printer in top box) looks like you hold the glass in position then reinstall the cover so the the glass edge is sandwiched between the player tracking bracket and the cover
The glass is easy to install and remove once I slide the printer out. No my printer is not fastened to the top box, I am missing that piece of hardware.
This was the first way I installed support and glass


2.  There is an edge behind the 3 tabs
If I remember right it made the support tip forward and something did not look right when installed that way.
This was the second way I tried it.
I had to remove and reinstall the bracket to get glass in or out when the glass was behind the 3 tabs of the support.

The reason I ask is the glass is not level due to printer being a little bit taller than the thin edge of the support and the 2 hooks of the cover.
I lifted the glass so you could see the tabs and ledge that is behind the glass when it is installed the first way.

Which way would the correct way 1 or 2?

Warning: If you have this style of player tracking bar do not leave the cover removed and try to do other things. The glass will fall out too easily

Doesn't that particular P/T plate get bolted down to the floor of the topbox?

Yes all S2000 PT and glass supports except the cover are screwed to the top of the main cabinet. The floor of the top box does not come that far forward.

I bent the 2 tabs more downwards on the faceplate so they slipped inside the 2 slots on the P/T bracket.

I can remove and install the cover just fine.

Multiple Choice Question.

A. Should the glass be sandwiched between the cover and bracket. The way I did it initially and is currently.
B. Should the glass be resting on the lip that at the top of the bracket. it is about 1/8-1/4" in depth (front to back)
    This option requires you to slip the glass in with the bracket not attached to the machine then screw the bracket in place, then install the cover normally. not enough clearance to slip the glass in place if bracket screwed in place.

Then you may have the option of going the other way...

Take it all out, and use a router with the correct sized bit to
make the slot in the wooden cabinet topbox groove deeper upstairs?
That way you can screw the bracket down as you want and still have
the proper clearance to slip the glass over the bracket tabs.

The only power tool I own right now is a soldering iron (does it even qualify)

I just tried to slip the glass behind the bracket with it attached
It can be done but is tricky.
I had to lift glass up on the right side and work the tabs through one at a time.

It might be better to have a 1/32" taken off the 3 tabs, and is something I can have someone that I know do it.

I forgot to say with the glass on the lip of the bracket the glass sits level to the machine but when its sandwiched between bracket and cover it would drop down a tad on the right and is noticeable.

Now to solve the printer being tilted up at the back end of it.
It sits on all the connectors and wiring that is located at the back left of top box.
Makes the printer bezel tilt forward with a gap at the top.

Something is tilted...did you get it from this guy? >>>

Think the printer thing stems from the fact it was originally equiped to go next to reels.
Which I removed and stashed away in case I need it.

That is why I asked for pictures of one that is properly installed. in another post in this part of NLG.

Can I see how the printer sits in top box.

Hers is how mine looks.
There is about 1/4 gap between the printer bezel and glass along the common edge.

Held in by three studs and nuts.     Skipper ,Stat don't even go there!!

so I take yours touches all those connectors at the back of the top box as well.

The first pic.the printer is upside down, two studs protruding from the rear of the cabinet go into the two holes you see in the unpainted bracket.  So yes the printer goes clear to the rear.

Foster I should add the top glass isn't the easyest thing to install. You have to wiggle it around and get it just right, all the time hoping you don't drop it. Mine is a round top machine.

Round Top but I do have a S2000 9" top. I replaced the original vision ready 9" top. I got tired of the internal style speakers.
I wonder if mine was mounted how in the world am I supposed reach under it to press the release to pull printer forward to remove the glass

There is NO release on the printer. It just slides in or out.

I thought the release was so you could pull the printer forward when it was fully seated but that is to totally remove it from the outer chassis.

I learned something new. 
whenever I did in the past pull the printer out some. I always pushed the release cause I thought I had to do so.

I must get that bracket soon.
