Title: IGT Game King Handpay
Post by: Vegas777 on November 08, 2010, 01:06:18 PM
Friends,

We have a 1998 IGT Game King (multi-denomination).
The machine currently has a few thousand credits on it, however, we would prefer not to cash out the coins due to excessive wear on our already shabby hopper. (It needs a new knife..)

Anyhow, could someone please advise on how to do a handpay so we don't have to cash out all these coins?    :103-

Thank You!
Brian

Well...the good news is you can change the settings on your machine so it will hand pay any cash out.  All you need to do is go into menu by opening the door, pressing the test button on the main board, once in the menu go to options / settings then to Limits.  Under limits change your Hopper limit to (0) zero.  Any cash outs after that change will now go to hand pay.

The bad news....the machine won't let you make this change until there are zero credits on the machine.  So play them off and then make the change.

We cashed the coins out and then adjusted the limit as you had described and all works great!!

Thank you so much, Bettor Slots!!!    :131-

Does your machine have a printer?  If you like you can "enable the printer" and then when you cash out that big jackpot you will have a nice souvenir.

No, but that might be a good idea.. I've had a hopper knife go bad on one of our WMS slots as well.  :186-

We did see an IGT printer conversion kit on eBay for $150, I believe...  Although I'm not sure if there is a specific kind needed for the Game King or not?   :20-

Can you post a couple of pics of your machine.  One of the front, upper top half.  And the other, take the top glass out and give us a pic of the interior of the top box.

May I suggest investing a buck or two in a new knife?  They're really not expensive at all.  :71-

Yes, this is probably a good idea...never really put time into figuring out how to tear the hopper apart..

There's nothing involved in replacing the hopper knife except a couple of screws -- nothing to be afraid of at all!

Very pretty looking machine you've got there with that LCD screen.  :3-

Yeah, even I accomplished a hopper knife task...and that's saying a lot.  ;)

Agree with knagl...nice machine!  Looks like 5.0 software.

Ok, I think you have convinced me to give it a shot!   :76-

And thanks for your compliments.. After our CRT died, we figured to buy an LCD.
Although, I think we paid too much for it as I saw some (other brand models) go for about 1/2 price on eBay..  :25-

Thanks!!

And I didn't realize the 5.0 software part of it..   :95-

I really love collecting slot machines...although my wife is not too happy about the space they occupy..   :104-

next time you want to get rid of your credits without cashing out just swap the ram chips on the mpu.  credits and history will be lost but secure settings are saved on the e-square so you won't lose any major options like denom and game selection.  g/l with the hopper knife project, you know where to look for help if you need it!
