Title: Enhanced MPU and Motherboard
Post by: cowboygames on November 10, 2010, 04:09:35 PM
I purchased an enhanced mpu and motherboard off fleabay today and am wondering if I'm correct in thinking I can use this to swap out my 502 mpu and motherboard on any one of my S2000 machines. :103- Thanks in advance for the help :89-

Yes you are correct. (I am assuming you got the MB, MPU, and the legacy daughter board for simms and eproms  that I saw from laslots.)

Yes I did :3- The $81 it cost seems like a pretty fair deal. After I get it I might need a little advice on where all the chips plug in, but this oughta take care of any stray speaker noises on a machine I plan on keeping. Kinda wish he had 3 or 4 more sets of these :89-

What's the number of the "enhanced" board..."504"?

Why "504"...why not call it something else?  :72-

(                  fill in the blank                     )

Is this a nickname of an IGT part number?

I think the enhanced board came after the 504 board. Not sure what version it was introduced for though

Bunker,

The 504 board is a newer revision of the standard S2000 board, and it comes from the last few digits of the part number... 7551050x ---> 75510500, 75510501, 75510502, 75510503, 75510504

The enhanced board is sometimes referred to as the 127 or 1270 board, coming from the part number 7551270x

Something new to learn. :71-
