I have JCK WBA 12 transport with WBA 11 head installed on my Aristocate 540 machine. This validator does not go cycle during boot up so I suspect it might be dead. I am looking to get a replacement but do not know what will work between WBA 11 or WBA 13 transport?  Also want to know if someone can point me to where can i get a manual for Aristocate 540 mark 4?

Maybe I can help you, but I haven't worked with a 540 with a WBA validator.
All the 540's that I've seen have a GPT or CBV validators.
Can you post some pictures of the machine front and inside?   :211-

Did that bill acceptor work on this machine before you started looking at it?

WBA 10 transport is a 1 meg flash unit
WBA 11 transport is a 1 meg Eprom unit
WBA 12 transport is a 4 meg flash unit
WBA 13 transport is a 4 meg Eprom unit

Any WBA head will work 10,11,12,13 dose not matter.

The correct software must be installed in the transport for your game.

The Software in the Transport should be ID003 Version V-3.76-32I

I took some pictures ( #1,#2, and #3) of WBA 12 installed on my Aristocrat 540 and a picture of WBA 13 (#4) which I took it out from my IGT plus and put it in my game and I can hear the valildator cycle during the boot up but the machine will not take any bill with this WBA 13. With the old WBA 12, the validator not even cycle during boot up. That is knid of make think that the transport WBA 12 might be bad. Anyway this game I just got it thru craiglist and the guy sold it me saying it is working before he stored it for more than 1 year. The game acutally is at my shop and I would not get back there till Monday but I have taken both validators home with me that why I can take a picture of them. I am kind of newbie on this hobby so I might not know much. I believe that the software on WBA 12 is ID OC3 V 3.02-9i but i do not know what software I have on WBA 13. Another test that I am planning is to put WBA 12 into my IGT plus machine and see if the validator will cycle thru.  I am planing to test that tomorrow. Anyone has a manual of Aristocrat 540? thx pk

IGT Game king transport's are programmed with ID 024 software and your game needs ID 003. If your IGT is a PE+ or a S+ the software is ID 023 and is not useable. Turn your WBA-13 over and look on the big Chip to see if it has a version label. There is no ID called ID 0c3 from JCM.

I turned the WBA 13 around but unfortunately the label was scratched and I can not read them. I guessed this is ID 023 as it came off from IGT S+ machine. How can I get a hand of another transport that has ID 003. You can reprogram the transport you have or if you are going to buy a transport I would say get a WBA-13. You can change the software buy just changing the E-Prom. If you don't know how to flash the WBA 12 transport and have a slot shop near you I would check with them. Or try monitorman on this site he fixes and reprograms them. I think he charges $15.00 plus shipping.

Now I know for usre that my WBA 12 transport is bad because I put it into my IGT S+ and it does cycle during boot up. I am going to get a replacement for my transport, and probably will get WBA 13SS. What software that I need to have it on this new WBA 13SS for my machine to work. Is that ID003 for sure? How can I verify that?  Does the software version also dictate what kind of bills ( new/old) that validator will accept? There is a guy who can sell the complete unit of WBA 13 ( transport and head ) with eeprom ID 003 to me for $60 plus shipping. Is this a good price? 

ID003 Version V-3.76-32I This software is for the 540 game you have and is new money. The new $100.00 bill will be out in Feb. and all you will have to do is change the E-Prom to update it.

thank you for your reply. Just want to be sure that you say this WBA 13SS with ID003 will work on my Aristocrat 540 MK4 right? My game is MK4 not MK5. I posted similar question in the Aristocrat section but does not get any reply about this. I just want to absolutely sure before buying that replacement transport.

ID003 is correct and current software is Version 3.76-32I is for current money.
