Title: Game Change Problem Super Spin to BTP RWB
Post by: Magicslots on November 12, 2010, 07:52:46 PM
:99-  Changing out my Super Spin Siz 7 to the RWB Big Times Pay kit I got from Jason, and now I need help....
Changed out glass strips etc.. and changed out Base Chip and sound simm.
When fired up it goes from testing memory to Error msg  Game type is Not Linked  -0x305, Some critical data may be lost... followed the following procedure:

" Once installed, you might get a RAM error when you power it up.  If you do, try turning the jackpot reset key three times and then I believe it wll tell you to either power down, close the door, or hold the reset button down on the MPU for 2-3 seconds. "

When done it goes to the mem test and then says call attendant

I am stuck in a loop here, this is all I can make it do.  I have a Key17 Chip but no Ram clear chip. Does the game need a ram clear or???

Possible mismatch on SG chips?   Heres what is currently on board

GME1 SG000399
GME2 SG000399

VS011GX1  which I dont really know what it does???

Base Chip
SB100879

Sound Simm
Sndf DSV00051

I looked at master list and it shows
SG000194

So do i need to change out the sg chips?  Which I dont have!
Where do I go from here???    :103-    :99-    :103-    :99-

Talked with Jason and he says the board he used had SG000363 's in it which shows to be Fort Knox.....

So I am starting to think more and more that I need new SG chips?????? :37-

Yeah, that's what my BTP has too...363's.  I have an extra original set if you need them.

While I am posing questions...
Whats the most universal/best ram clear chip and Key chip for the S2000's?
The Key 17 is the only one I own  :30-

Great talking with you today Robin.  :)

97 Clear is what I have been told is the best one to use.  I'm a clear/set freak and just like to make sure everything is reset for a new game.  Some might find it a waste of time, but that's me.  If you use the procedure that I sent you, it goes super smooth.  I'm not sure if you could get away with a clear/set with the GME chips that you have or if you will ultimately need the 363's but if Tilt has some to offer up, I would definitely go that route.  You might be able to get by without a clear/set after replacing the chips.  If not, the 97 should nuke the system and allow for a reconfig.

Huge K+ to Tilt for the generous offer!

Cheers,
Jason

The PSR for SG000363 says to use Key 31 and Clear IVC00224.  IVC00097 may work, but it's not what the PSR calls out for RAM & E2 Clear.

Thanks for the info Cliff. :3-
I need some basic education here, according to the master list, some chips are multi-game use and others are listed as
specific to one or two games only...Yet.. the SG000363 works with BTP, it shows to be listed as the chip for Fort Knox specifically,
and the SG000399's are listed for regular Sizzling 7's, and worked fine in my 4 reel Super Spin,
but the (recommended? ) chip for the 2 coin BAP 4 reel is SG000194  :103-

What gives????

Jason: Did you get the email I sent you O.K.?

I'm not a software expert by any means, but 363 supports a bunch of games/game types.  Type 73 is one of them, and that's Big Times/Bonus Times Pay.  It also support some specific S2K themed machines such as Tabasco, Cigar, Mummy, etc

SG399 only supports Type 143 games, which includes Super Spin Sizzling 7, Super Stars Spin, Freedom Stars, and Diamond Stars

Hope that helps.

 :118- Doh!!!
So it is indeed a game chip mismatch..
I suppose I will have to do a complete RAM clear etc, to get the game up and going once I get the
GME chips replaced ????   :182-

You probably won't have to, the machine will most likely do it for you when you install the SG363's.  "RAM Error", some criticial settings..blah blah blah.. press and hold button for 2-3 seconds to clear, and one for the EEPROM too.

Yep, Tilt explained exactly what I experience Robin.  Once the test button is pushed and the door is closed, you should see the "Insert Coin" message come up on the VFD.  Again, if a clear procedure is necessary, it's about a 10-15 minute process from clear to pullling the handle again.  :)

The mailmain never gets to my house fast enough.  It feels like Christmas morning to a kid when I hear the truck pull up with slot goodies.  ;)
