Title: IGT sues Aristocrat and makes machine #2,000,000 Post by: Brianzz on November 17, 2010, 12:25:33 AM Quote LAS VEGAS, Nov. 15, 2010 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- International Game Technology (NYSE: IGT) today announced the filing of a patent infringement lawsuit against Aristocrat Leisure Limited of Australia and its U.S. Affiliate Aristocrat Technologies, Inc., (collectively "Aristocrat") in connection with the sale and distribution of Aristocrat's gaming devices, including particularly Aristocrat's Viridian WS slot machines. The lawsuit comes after failed attempts to resolve the IP disputes between Aristocrat and IGT. The lawsuit was filed in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California. In the suit, IGT asserts that Aristocrat has willfully infringed and continues to infringe two patents directed to fundamental capabilities for authentication of gaming software: 1. U.S. Patent 6,620,047 entitled "Electronic Gaming Apparatus Having Authentication Data Sets"; and 2. U.S. Patent No. RE 39,370 entitled "Electronic Casino Gaming System with Improved Play Capacity, Authentication and Security." "We filed this case because IGT's intellectual property is being knowingly and unfairly exploited by Aristocrat," said Robert C. Melendres, Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary at IGT. "IGT is the world's leading innovator and creator of intellectual property in the gaming industry." 2. U.S. Patent No. RE 39,370 entitled "Electronic Casino Gaming System with Improved Play Capacity, Authentication and Security." blah blah.. something that probably can't even be proven beyond the shadow of a doubt Title: Re: IGT sues Aristocrat and makes machine #2,000,000 Post by: stayouttadabunker on November 17, 2010, 12:51:04 AM So, it's a frivoulous lawsuit then...figures.
the point of IGT ( "I Get Touchy") suing is probably more of a strategic corporate-bullying move? Title: Re: IGT sues Aristocrat and makes machine #2,000,000 Post by: Brianzz on November 17, 2010, 12:59:02 AM Most likely, whine tits.. sales must be down this month :97-
Title: Re: IGT sues Aristocrat and makes machine #2,000,000 Post by: stayouttadabunker on November 17, 2010, 01:28:50 AM It's funny where they even figure out how to begin a lawsuit isn't it?
SOMEbody from IGT HAD to go out somehow and actually BUY an Aristocrat machine, then get into it's inner workings to find this out? or They investigate machines by reading pending patents? I don't get it... if they're such a "global leader in the design, development, and manufacture of gaming machines and systems products" as they claim to be - then what are they afraid of? Definition of the term: "greedy bastards"... think>>>"IGT" **Disclaimer** "I don't believe a word that was said here....lol" Title: Re: IGT sues Aristocrat and makes machine #2,000,000 Post by: reho33 on November 17, 2010, 02:30:24 AM They make the best machines in the industry, hands down IMHO.
