Title: Accres Gaming Player Tracking Setup
Post by: MrBellMan on November 17, 2010, 01:14:55 AM
Hi all,

Not sure if this is the right forum, but here it it goes.

I have an Acres Gaming player tracking setup that I would like to try and use. My main question is that after power up the display reads "COMM". I have two extra plugs that I don't know where they go. So, I was hoping someone here could help me on this. I have attached some pictures of the setup, plugs and display. Any one have info on this?

Thanks!

The cable with the RED connector connects to the Bank Controller Home run cable in the floor of the casino. The gray cable or UID cable Connects to the game mother board. The display says Comm because you need to load the BE2 board with a Asset Number, Location, & Denom. and it is waiting for the system to download configuration files.

Hope this helps

I love learning about these things because really - there's a lot involved!!! :89-
A "Bank Controller Home run cable" I'm afraid though, Mr.BellMan, doesn't have...
Unless there's a local casino located underneath the basement of his house!  :72-

Chances are - none of his machines are connected to any sort
of a casino accounting-type of computer.
The only electrical connection he may have of any kind would
be the 110Vac machine plug into a wall outlet.

So with all this in mind - would there possibly be any way he could
use this player tracking unit in a home environment - for fun?
Can we "fool" a PT system into thinking it's actually hooked up just like a real PT system?
I'd like to make a PT card actually work for fun but I have absolutely to knowledge of where to start
nor am I capable to do so with my limited knowledge of electronics.

It would be a very neat experiment to actually use our PT systems and house our own NLG PT server.
We could keep tabs on all the NLG members that have such a unit set-up so we can compare our "Greatest Slot Hits" !!

oh...I just remembered...lol....that's what the Forum thread "Greatest Hits At Home" is for.  :25-

that would be cool if we could all hook up our player tracking to the website to see who has no life at all and plays the most  :30-

A member by the name of John Acres might be happy to help you out with your
PT system MrBellMan - However, he hasn't been around too much.
He asked us for some old documentation on the Acres stuff and
we never really heard from him again.
It was like as if he lost his stuff?
Maybe his hard drive crashed :103-

Not too many people really have these things anymore as I don't recall
anyone busting into the old chips to see if they could program a
message like "Welcome To My Basement Mancave" onto the display... :96-

I'd try this though: Search for his member name and see if an email address pops up
and maybe you could try to get in touch with him for some help?
See if he's alive and kicking...

The last time I talked to John he was looking for Mikohn stuff and was talking about starting a new progressive sign company. John started Acres and Mikohn both. But back to the mater at hand.

IGT has a demo software that runs on XP and they are very protective about. I tried to get a copy and was unable to.  With this software and a small interface box you can read meters do tickets and track players. But you would have to find someone that has it.

Are you speaking of having a working ticket-in system?  ...because if so, I know a bunch of folks here would be interested in that.

I do know this can be done using the Bally Mastercom 250, but I thought I would see if anyone had experience with the Acres setup as well.

Thanks everyone!
