Title: Gold Fish Top Glass Project
Post by: idesign on November 25, 2010, 10:30:06 PM
I got a top glass from Frank at casino glass for my Blue Bird.  Problem is the reef has a ton of LEDS in it that requires a harness to make it light up. Since I didn't have the harness I did a bit of surgery on the reef and inserted LED strips inside of the reef.  Found 12 volts in the top box and used a IGT power distribution board to connect all the strips to.  Came out pretty good.  The photo lost some of the detail in the reef but it still looks great.  Also used LED strips to light up the top of the glass since the machine was missing the light fixture.

The LED strip lights are found in the auto section of ebay. I used the strips with the 12 bright LEDS on them.  There are some with 15 smaller LEDS but they are not as bright.   Using a hole saw I cut a 1-1/2" hole in the bottom corners of the reef and fished 4 strips into it......2 vertical and 2 shorter horizontal.

THAT is my dream machine to own!! I'm so envious.
I was only able to find the GoldFish topper, which is perfect.
Now I only need the machine.

GREAT Find - great job. Can I come over??  LOL
