Title: I/O Boards
Post by: pyrohobie on November 26, 2010, 02:27:51 PM
Ok- I'll keep this in a lone topic.

I just got my 2 I/O boards in. When I put 1 into a slot machine- It starts spitting quarters out- even if I have a clear chip in. It doesn't matter which machine I put it in(PIG, Jackpot)

Any idea's

Doug

I don't know a thing about your machine but I'd post the I/O board numbers so someone
could double check to see if they're the right ones for your machine?
Perhaps a good CLEAR hi-resolution photograph of them would help?

The part number is 5779-13912-03-

It matches the same one that came out of the machines

:103- :103- :103-   Odd...    Is anything flashing on the lcd screen while it is paying credits ?  (ie; counting down the credits as it pays out quarters? )

The transistor that controls the hopper is shorted. It's not holding credits, the I/O board has no "Smarts"......

This is the same problem my brother and I had with a Jackpot Stampede Deluxe. We took it to Kirk who tested our chips and located a bad chip in the middle of the board. It was the large square one. Kirk suggested we replace the board and the problem was solved. Our problem started out as the hopper just spitting out coins. But of course we made it worse as we struggled a full day on changing out parts. Kirk identified our problem in less then half an hour. Haven't had a problem since and gained a lot of experience working on the Williams 400.

Actually, those I/O may be in excellent shape - your problem could lay somewhere else.
What were your reasons for buying another set of I/O boards in the first place?

The one board that failed when you turned the machine on-ALL the lights came on-and I mean all- The second board we had power supply troubles and we think I sent double power through the ATX and a different power supply, Check out another topic that I posted earlier.
