Title: Looking for a machine.
Post by: Racenviper on November 27, 2010, 07:07:13 PM
I'm looking for a 2 coin machine to fit a Glass plate and reel tape that I own. I believe it was used for a "Win a Viper" a Dodge Viper. The payouts are the same as a Double Diamond Deluxe. The glass measures 16.5 inches wide, 10.5625 High.

1st Coin
3 Viper 800
3 - 7's  80
3 - 3Bar 40
3 - 2Bar  25
3 - Bar  10
3 - Cherry  10
Any Bar 5
Any two Cherry 5
Any one Cherry 2

The second Coin payout in this order Viper, 160, 80, 50, 20, 20, 10, 10, 4

The reel is in this order from top to bottom - 3Bar, 7, Bar, 2Bar, Cherry, 3Bar, Bar, 7, 2Bar, Viper, Bar

At the the bottom of the reel tape is written " IGT (#4414) - Viper- Reel 1, 2 & 3"

Looking for help in locating the right machine and/or chip or any info.

To be clear, are you looking to buy a machine to go with your glass kit, or just the chips for an S+ machine, or what?

Also, you said that the payouts are the same as a Double Diamond Deluxe.  Do the symbols have nudging indicators on them, as the Deluxe game does?

A picture or two might make things easier to figure out.

Is that a slant-top glass you have then?

WOW  that might be a first, buy a machine to match the glass and strips that you have.

I'd like to take it even further..." I'd like to buy a machine that matches this bolt I have?"   :5-

Disregard this and my next post...I was mistaken...Thanks!
Blueridge has it below

lol...seriously...It sounds like it was a promotional  giveaway kit.
Does your award glass match all the awards on this glass?
Below that is the actual symbol placements of a DD Deluxe set of strips.
Do your strips match this?
or are all 3 strips identical like the second set of strips?>>>

Mark .. you have it right .. Double Diamond and Purple Passion are the same games.

In the Double Diamond there are two pays on two lines (single bars and 3 cherries and any bar and 2 cherries) where the Purple Passion has a line for each award separately.

It is SS4414 and only that Reel Chip will work with those strips, and the Glass Size is a S+ IBV Slant Top, Viper if you want a machine to put your kit in I have a nice one if you are interested, however that game won't pay back much and will be boring

Is that a slant-top glass you have then?

I have no idea what this glass was in. This is why I was asking the experts.

I'll post some photos.

This is not how it is done?

What should I do, buy a machine and then try to figure out why nothing fits?

That's a slant top game.. you may send a picture of the glass to EI and see if they can make you a 9" or 16" pay and belly glass and pop it in an upright.

They gave away Vipers for a Double Diamond base.. damn.. bet they gave away tons of them

That is Mikohn Kit, it only works with 1 Program, 85% 256 Stop, 1 Top Award in the Cycle, Yes Viper we do have the correct software for that strip set

Is there anyone that make custom reels? Take a double diamond and change the Top payout symbol to a Viper logo. Possible? This way I have a playable machine, but not worried about giving away a Viper. I don't have one to give away, any ways.

Express Imaging can make custom reel strips, however they cannot and will not duplicate copyrighted material, so you won't be able to get them to put the IGT-style "Bar" or cherry symbols or a Double Diamond logo (copyrighted by IGT) or a Viper logo (copyrighted by Dodge) on a set of strips.

Their website, if you're interested, is http://www.expresslv.com/ .

They do good work, but they're not cheap, either.

I'm a little confused as to why you need strips made, or do you only have one strip and you need two more?

WOW  that might be a first, buy a machine to match the glass and strips that you have.

What should I do, buy a machine and then try to figure out why nothing fits?

Typically most people buy a machine that would already have a glass/reel strip kit in it, and then they buy additional glass/strip kits to have different themes available to play.  I've never seen someone buy the kit first and then buy a machine to go with it, but whatever works for you is great.  For the Viper kit you have, you'd need to buy a slant top S+ machine, and the software that Jim (Blueridge) has available so that the payouts are correct when the various symbols land on the payline.

That is a sharp looking kit there, but as Jim pointed out it will be a boring game to play -- you'll only hit one of the Viper symbols on average of once out of every 256 spins -- that's significantly less than a typical Double Diamond game.

They gave away Vipers for a Double Diamond base.. damn.. bet they gave away tons of them

As Jim pointed out, it used the crummy low paying/long odds version of Double Diamond -- with 256 stops per reel and only one Viper symbol on each virtual reel, it was a 1 in 16,777,216 chance of winning the car.  I bet they didn't give a single one away.
