Title: Quick Guide for DBV 200 Diagnostics
Post by: JCM Tech on November 25, 2008, 05:03:28 PM
DBV-200s are easy to troubleshoot once you know the steps. With the 145 you needed a VM-401 test box. Buttons, switches and a lot of flashy lights to help you understand what was going on inside the validator head. The 200 was produced after the WBA came out and the programming allows you to use the Dip switches to do the diagnostics just like the WBA. You can download the training guide used in the JCM class from the web site http://www.jcm-american.com/docs/training/960-000133/960-000133.pdf  Then you can make a test light to give you the output you would get from the lights on the VM-401 (attached file) With the B4 and B5 CPUs (IGT 147 replacement with 3 plugs) use a 5v LED connected to pins 1&2 of the 4 pin plug (Anode to pin 1 cathode to pin 2)
The DBV-200 manual also has these test procedures http://www.jcm-american.com/docs/manuals/960-000077.pdf The Dip switch tests work for all models, not just the IGT version. The test LED shown for the bill denomination tests is a 5v LED anode to pin 8 and Cathode to pin 14 on the 14 pin connector.
