Title: PE+ JCM DBV-145-SU Not taking bills Post by: jerry304 on December 08, 2010, 04:35:40 AM Hi,
I just got a PE+ with a side mounted bill acceptor (JCM DBV-145-SU) and it will take a bill in, but spits it out after a second or so. I have a superboard installed in the game with a mulitpoker program. The acceptor has chip ID 022 V3.30 installed. I believe I have all the options set correctly, I just can't get it to take any bills. Any suggestions?? Do you by chance have an ID023 EPROM for your DBV-145 you could try?
Also, are you just trying a basic $1 bill in good condition for testing? If not, do so and stick with that until you get it accepted, then move on to a different bill. Title: Re: PE+ JCM DBV-145-SU Not taking bills Post by: Jim on December 08, 2010, 01:17:08 PM If you want to get the bill acceptor working on your machine I would make a suggestion. Invest your money in a new head and possible power supply. a new chip will cost you "x" dollars to get limited and old technology. The 200 head is a direct replacement for the 145, their programs contain IDO-022 and IDO-023 protocol changeable by a dip switch setting, four way acceptance, and software that will take it up to the new five. I would venture to guess that this could be available for around 75 dollars, that's if you need to replace the power supply. If not , then it could be less expensive. If you power supply has vent holes on the black housing then it will work for the 200 head.
This is only a suggestion!!! I just thought I would offer some options. does this side mount unit have a company name on it ? any history of it ever working? I ask this because, POSSIBLY, even with a new head there could be something else wrong. Its something that has to be considered. I never came across a SU desiginator, only SS and SH, I wonder what the difference is? and if the 200 head will have that change? anyone???? Oh, good call on that. I did some searching and found that the SU was designed for SGI (Silicon Gaming, I'm guessing -- the makers of the Odyssey), and used protocol ID011. I don't know if changing the EPROM to an ID022 would negate that, though? I do agree with Jim that it might be worth it to invest in a DBV-200 head. Some PE+ games use 022, and others use 023 -- having the dip switch available to change it would make your life a lot easier. I have two side-mount boxes like yours, Jerry, and both have DBV-200's in them and both work well with my PE+ games, although I've had to change the DIP switch once when I changed software. |
