Title: different checksum reading Post by: rjpohl on November 27, 2008, 11:48:12 AM I have a TOP2003 and Chinese knock off Willem. I'm reading the same chip in both and get a slightly different checksum.
in the Top2003 I get: 17e3ddb in the Willem I get: 0x3DDB this is a 27c010 eprom, I've read several other chips and the first few digits don't match and the last 4 do match. thanks for your help Title: Re: different checksum reading Post by: idesign on November 27, 2008, 12:28:59 PM Not sure why you are getting the first digits different but it's the last 4 that count and they are identical.
Title: Re: different checksum reading Post by: rickhunter on December 01, 2008, 03:00:42 PM The longer checksum is 32 bit, the shorter one is 16bit. If you had an 8bit checksum it would only be the last two digits.
