Title: Help With Bally EVO ram clear procedure
Post by: AffordableSlots on December 17, 2010, 02:55:44 AM
I just got a ram clear chip and need to know where it goes on the board. I THINK I got it figured out but im not sure... P7?  :103-

After I put in the ram clear chip in P7 and change dip 1 to safe ram clear, the machine boots up and says "saferam clear enabled, turn reset switch" I then turn the reset key and it boots back up and tells me the same thing. I take the chip out and replace it with the original eprom and it still comes up with a safe ram error. Am I missing something? :99-

Take a look at the pics below.

Thanks,
Bryan

I have a Bally EVO video slot and have done a ram clear, but the ram clear chip doesn't go in P7.

What game do you have?

What is the model info on the plate on the right side of the cabinet?

Post a pix of the entire IOP board so I can see if it the same as mine.

I might be able to help you.

My Bally manual, module 2, shows the ramclear chip in P9.

For the EVO platform, P9 would be the winner! I posted an excerpt from the manual for the clear in another recent thread.

I have a Bally EVO Captain Jackpot, after went through several saferam procedures, the JCM WBA is not taking any bills, it was taking bills before the saferam was initiated.
There is no error codes shown. Is it possible that I'll set up the wrong denom? At the Denomination window, I'd selected 0.01  for coin denom. For bill acceptor, I'd chose universal 1. Where am I missing?

After you did the ramclear, when you were in the jurisdiction, chasis, etc screen, did you select your bill validator as JCM WBA?

I think there is also a bill selection screen where you have to check off all the bills that you want the machine to accept.

tacman. I did specified JCM WBA.
bobduder, the option we want to use here in the states would be Universal 1.
BTW, I needed to mention that the game came up in demo mode.

OK, Yes you are correct to select universal 1 in the bill acceptor options when you set it up... The reason it is not accepting bill is because it is in demo mode. Turn the reset key, with the door open, (trying to remember from memory) go to the machine number or serial number. You have to make up a number... any number. If there is no number, then the game is on free play and wont take bills.

tellmeaboutit is exactly right!  :89- I guess the EVO is like the Gamemaker, you would have to assign a number to the machine. I usually just do 1-9, that will get you out of demo. Good luck and K+ to tellmeaboutit!
