Title: How can I put a hole into my LCD screen? Post by: stayouttadabunker on December 19, 2010, 08:28:00 PM I would like it to operate like a normal LCD screen except there will be 3 large rectangle holes in it.
You may have seen this done with the WMS transmissive reel glass units. Is this possible to do? Title: Re: How can I put a hole into my LCD screen? Post by: brichter on December 19, 2010, 08:30:01 PM Ok, Mr. New Thread Starter. :187-

I love building bridges! lol It's not exactly what I want to do though... more of an illusion really. Check this out! I think I can overlay a transparent screen over the reel glass!>>> http://www.pcworld.com/article/201905/a_view_through_some_transparent_lcd_screens.html (http://www.pcworld.com/article/201905/a_view_through_some_transparent_lcd_screens.html) http://www.pcworld.com/article/201935/make_your_own_transparent_display.html (http://www.pcworld.com/article/201935/make_your_own_transparent_display.html) http://www.youtube.com/v/Z1cg6HMXx68?fs=1&hl=en_US (http://www.youtube.com/v/Z1cg6HMXx68?fs=1&hl=en_US) Title: Re: How can I put a hole into my LCD screen? Yoeddy, you're draggin' ! You haven't even passed Joey yet. :5- :207- He only has about 150 posts on you, but then again, he stared a new thread every week for over a year when he was doing the "video of the week." series. Munch, you only need two more to take the lead! :267- :az- (Okay, you're not from AZ, but it fits.) Title: Re: How can I put a hole into my LCD screen? Post by: StatFreak on December 20, 2010, 04:29:31 AM To address the topic, Bunker, I think it might be better to just wait until transmissive LCD technology becomes affordable than to try to invent a workaround version. The wait shouldn't be too long. Once you can buy an affordable generic transmissive LCD, then you could have fun adapting it to work in a slot.
Just my 2ยข Stat :31- Title: Re: How can I put a hole into my LCD screen? Post by: stayouttadabunker on December 20, 2010, 04:32:46 AM I agree Stat.
I just wanted to start the thread to see if anyone's had any info on the technology. I also seen some round top LCDs on the floor...I'm not kidding... The top quarter of the LCD screens were rounded! I thought that was amazing to see really. I think Toshiba is making rounded LCD panels out there. |
