Title: IGT alum. cabnet Post by: FORDSBS on December 26, 2010, 11:15:49 AM Now that I got some other projects out of the way I think today I'm going to
strip out an IGT 2000 w/aluminum cabnet and see is I can make it less flimsy. The aluminium cabnet are like a piece of rubber. They flex all over. They suck. Now it's a lot solider. I DO NOT like alum. cabnets, even if they don't weigh as much. Now I can get ready for snow & wind this afternoon. :217- Ford Title: Re: IGT alum. cabnet Post by: FORDSBS on December 26, 2010, 02:21:57 PM This is what bracket look like. Put in all corners.

Title: Re: IGT alum. cabnet Post by: FORDSBS on December 27, 2010, 11:47:07 PM Does anyone else have this problem or is it just mine?

Saggy one .... :208- :208-or ...Alum, cabinet problems? :200- :200- Check with Bunker :3- Heard he was a pro on both of these problems first hand :97- :97- :97- Or is that single handedly :79- :79- :208- Had to do it ! :47- Title: Re: IGT alum. cabnet Post by: stayouttadabunker on December 28, 2010, 03:10:34 PM lol
I'm no pro... believe me! My S2000 is somewhat saggy too but I live with it. I contribute it to age... :96- Title: Re: IGT alum. cabnet Post by: FORDSBS on December 28, 2010, 03:35:29 PM Are they aluminum or steel. The one I'm talking about is aluminium cabnet.
Ford Title: Re: IGT alum. cabnet Post by: stayouttadabunker on December 28, 2010, 03:44:55 PM S+ are steel, my S2000 is aluminum.
Title: Re: IGT alum. cabnet Post by: FORDSBS on December 28, 2010, 03:52:26 PM On y 2000's that are steel you have a little door sag. On the aluminum one it was getting that the door sagged 3/4 to 1 inch.
Title: Re: IGT alum. cabnet Post by: stayouttadabunker on December 28, 2010, 03:57:37 PM Hmm...I only have about 5/32" door sag...that's not bad really.
Title: Re: IGT alum. cabnet Post by: FORDSBS on December 28, 2010, 04:00:18 PM I guess mine is just a weak cabnet. I'll have to look @ other aluminum and see if they are as bad as mine.

is the last time that door will ever be straight. :96- Title: Re: IGT alum. cabnet Post by: knagl on December 28, 2010, 05:23:25 PM For the record, a friend of mine had some S+ machines in his shop that had aluminum cabinets. They came off a cruise ship, and I'm guessing they had requested them so they would weigh less.
