Title: Mikhon stand alone help Post by: CVslots on January 01, 2011, 11:44:30 PM Hi all and Happy New Years!!!!
I need help with my first project for this year. I've been reading all of the Mikhon stuff (Thanks :131- :131- :131-) and have a couple of questions. What I have is: The PSP v2 program on my lap top with windows 98 and the manual Serial cable Bally EVO machine and a Mikohn controller with the following ID on the chips- "Standalone EP900 (E)" on the first one and "MONO (E) mini (c) 1994 mikhon u4 V7.22 cs82A9" on the second one. What I need help with is: What controller do I have?CHAM1 or a CHAM2??? How to connect J4 on the controller to J6 on the machine? I've attached pictures of the Bally harness and my Mikhon. Thanks, DC Title: Re: Mikhon stand alone help Post by: CVslots on January 01, 2011, 11:45:28 PM And a couple more

Title: Re: Mikhon stand alone help Post by: jay on January 02, 2011, 03:06:54 AM The one labled standalone is a Cham1.
The second unit you will probably need a CON1 to drive it. Do you have the meters and cable to connect to the controller ? Title: Re: Mikhon stand alone help Post by: CVslots on January 02, 2011, 05:17:27 AM Yes, I do have the meters and cable. I need the pin out for the Cham1 on J4.
Thanks Title: Re: Mikhon stand alone help Post by: jay on January 02, 2011, 06:23:15 AM I have never seen a Cham1 standalone manual.
The CON1 manual has info on the Cham1 (LED5) which is the Link Controller and it doesn't have a J4. I think J4 is the machine input. It looks a lot like the same input used on a CON1. If so there are 2 pins used. When shorted briefly they increment the jackpot, when shorted they trigger the jackpot won. I believe this would be the first and last pin. if this was a CON1 (link controller) multiple pins (ie 1 - 8 connect to eight machines) + the last pin which is a common. I would start by setting up the progressive (via PSP) and setting the increment amount to be something like 10% so you can see it increment each time the wires are shorted (ie coin dropped). You can then test the shorting and ensure the jackpot increments. The machine interface on the bally I understand needs a relay and that info is found in the bally manuals. All of his pictures are of the same unit, Jay. :103- :103- :103- CVslots: Can you please take a closer and/or bigger picture, or tell us exactly what it says on the chips in U4 and U5, plus what it says on the barcoded text on the sticker affixed to the silver power supply (under the gray ribbon cable)? Title: Re: Mikhon stand alone help Post by: CVslots on January 02, 2011, 11:23:14 PM Just the one unit. Got it all plugged in and played around with the program. Am I supposed to be able to get anything else on the display with it on the bench?

Title: Re: Mikhon stand alone help Post by: jay on January 02, 2011, 11:32:04 PM Yes - Empty means that there is no programming sent to the controller.
First go to the message programming and enter in a brief message under JPOT. Make sure you hit the send command. (F1) Go to the jackpot programming and program in some values. Make sure you hit the send command. (F1) You should get values and some messages. If you set up a increment of at least 4% with a 25c denomination then you will get the jackpot to grow by 1c for each increment. You should also be able to short the two wires (just quickly tap them together) to get it to increment. |
