Post by: clown2948 on November 30, 2008, 10:56:29 AM

I have two aristocrat viedo machines that can take bill validators but are not there. These machines were built in 1994 with a serial number  EY03406V and EY03350V.they are nickel machines that take 25 nickles to play. I have the no idea what they use. Can antbody help me or tell me where to buy them. I have the steel bill storage box that goes unded the bill validator.I also dont know the model number on these machines. You can email me at clown2948@aol.com if you can help. Thanks Robert

They could have steel-storage box for either JCM bill acceptors or GPT bill acceptors...  If you take a picture of it and post it here I could tell you which one you have since I have worked with both of them.

If I could make a choice, JCM would be the way for me because they work better than the GPT model fitted in those machines.  I'm referring mostly to stacker functioning.

The model number in your machines appears below the serial number, in the same metal plate.  Maybe you have MVP540 or MAV500 which are both part of MK5 platform.

If you have any of those models, then you can use any of these BVs:

JCM:  model WBA-13 SS for USD acceptance .  WBA-23 SS for foreign bills acceptance (they are the same validator with different heads)

GPT: model GII-IDS or SA-4 (super Argus).  Both of them with entry for down-stacking.   The kind of bill accepted by these acceptors depends only in the software used by it.  The head has nothing to do as in JCM.

Protocols used by JCM BVs in MK5 are:  ID0C3 and ID044C.  Both of them require a particular serial I/O interface.

The protocol you use depends on the bill you need to accept and availability of serial I/O interfaces.  I have worked with both and there is no difference in performance.

For USD there are versions for both protocols.  Attached you will find data sheets of the latest soft versions made by JCM for USD acceptance in those protocols.

Best Regards

 :103-  ooppsss.... that's something I haven't seen before.

I couldn't see any sticker in your pictures to identify the device. Did you try to identify your machines? Are they MK5 ?   I think you have an earlier model because these parts look really old.

Post some pictures of your machines (door open - door closed) for other members to identify what you have...  Post the info stated in metal plates where serial numers are.

I have no experience with models older than MK5.

Best Regards!

Robert,
I believe your machines are Mark 2.5's. And I remember talking to... I think it was Bobby? from The One Armed Gambler store, he thought he might have a validator(s) in his shed.
Give him a try;

Hi, i don't have a manual, but the clear procedure is probably the same as MK4:

- with machine turned off, slide the IC containing meters data against any metallic (grounded) surface (all pins against metal),

- reinstall in socket,

- turn the machine on again: voila ---> machine RAM cleared!!!

Hope it helps!

Paul, would a MK 2.5 Stepper Service & Parts Manual do you any good?  Doesn't have clear procedures though.
