Title: Universal Ultra-need help Post by: chong0922 on December 01, 2008, 01:37:43 AM hello all, new here, hoping to find some answers. I have a universal ultra slot machine. It was working fine till one day it died on me. Now its not completly dead but the game does not work. the front door with the 7 segment displays dont work. none of the little dc lamps work. i get 24 volts dc to the light under the bill acceptor on the front door and can hear the coin acceptor coil turn on and off. there is power going to most if not all of the rest of the machine. i can hear the speakers turn and the ballast lighting all works, but machine does not run. cant see error codes, cant reset, basically cant play =). any suggestions or thoughts would be great. trying to fix for my mother so i can keep her out of the casinos lol.

Chong, could be power supply or MPU board problem. Sounds like MPU board problem. Have you tried a RAM clear? To clear the RAM, press the three buttons on the front right of the board, (two little white ones and a bigger blue one) Hold these three buttons down for about two seconds while powering up the machine. You should see the four little red LED's on the board light up and then alternate across (blinking one at a time). If they are blinking one at a time and you still do not have LED's, then the board may be loose in it's connection to the backplane. Shut off the machine, pull the board and reseat it if this is so. If the red LED's do not blink at all or always on you have bigger problems. I will be off the internet for the next three days and will return Friday. Please post back your findings. Will be glad to help this coming weekend! Is your machine an upright or slant top? How about posting a picture of it, would like to see it. Uniman |
