Title: aft in progress Post by: James Cap on December 01, 2008, 06:31:20 PM Here's a couple of good questions for any smart slot techs out there:
"AFT in Progress" error on an IGT S2000, How do you get rid of it? WMS Star Trek machine, video keeps blacking out and we have to reboot game. Why does it keep blacking out? Good Luck... Title: Re: aft in progress Post by: knagl on December 01, 2008, 06:45:33 PM "AFT in Progress" error on an IGT S2000, How do you get rid of it? Is that anything like an EFT? Have you tried a RAM clear? Edit: Sounds like it -- I found the definition of AFT as "Advanced Funds Transfer". It sounds like the machine is in the middle of receiving funds (like free slot play or some other promotion) from the network, but stalled. I'm surprised it doesn't just time-out on its own. Isn't that a leased game, though? Call WMS? By the way, welcome to the NLG forums. :) Title: Re: aft in progress Post by: Slotmaster on December 02, 2008, 12:32:39 AM "AFT in Progress" error on an IGT S2000, How do you get rid of it? AFT would be locked up if there is an issue with the card reader system or configuration as that is what does the funds transfer. For the Star Trek I would also think you would have support from WMS direct as well but I am guessing here. This is a CPU-NXT2 setup and very new so I am sure it's leased and not owned by the casino. The issue sounds like a CPU issue and should be supported by WMS, also can be a screen issue but I am sure you can tell which is down (LCD or the CPU) - Can be a power issue as well so check both areas. Which Casino is this for or did you stumble on a star trek outside the back of the casino? (if so still give the name of the casino) :79- Title: Re: aft in progress Post by: Tech07 on December 08, 2008, 03:50:52 AM All it needs is a ram clear. Theres no other way to clear the error for the "AFT".
Is for the WMS, I would try a new power supply. Title: Re: aft in progress Post by: James Cap on January 06, 2009, 07:05:20 AM OK, Everyone interested in what AFT (advanced funds transfer) is:
AFT is developed by IGT. It is part of the SAS protocol and is used to transfer funds, either cash money or promotional money, between the slot accounting system and the machine. EFT stands for "Electronic Funds Transfer" and it just refers to financial transactions transferring money electronically like on-line banking, direct deposit...etc. When you get an "AFT in Progress" error on an IGT machine, you can do a "Soft Ram Clear" to get rid of it. Doing a Soft Ram Clear will leave the machine options intact and only clear the Ram. About the Star Trek machines. Yes, they are leased and WMS has to work on them. I would have to talk to a WMS tech to get his input on the Blacking Out problem. Someday I will. If you got the machine from somewhere & trying it alone, try to change the S.A.S. Address in the Settings to 0, this should do the trick, if you're unable to change the address (which might happen on very few machines) , I estimate that Your best solution will be clearing the settings. Regards |
