Title: Can't Clear 61 Post by: Puff on January 16, 2011, 07:59:47 PM I just acquired a Double Diamond IGT S+ (I think) machine that had a code 12.
I replaced the battery on the main board and then got a code 61. I ran through the "clear" procedure. Opened the door, pressed reset and got the "61 1" display. Closed the door and turned the Jackpot Reset key. It then went back to the code 61. Now, when I open the door and press/hold the reset button, the display goes blank for about 4 seconds, then the coins played flashes "0" once and the code 61 comes back. I do not get to the "61 1" display. The Jackpot reset key puts me in some type of test mode - pressing the change button cycles through the test modes, then the code 61 comes back up. Any ideas on where to look next? Also, sounds like I need to buy a "Reset Chip" - Who/where can I get that? I am a newbie on gaming machines but I do have some background in computer boards and arcade games. Good. Turn off the power. Pull out the MPU and take out the CMOS chip. Ground all the legs of the CMOS chip on a butter knife. Re-install the CMOS and put the MPU back in. Turn on the power and when you get to [61], press the little white test button to get to [61-1]. Now, close the door fully and make sue the latch is all the way down. Turn the Jackpot reset key once. What happens? Tell us without doing anything further. By the way, there's no such thing as a "Reset chip". I've heard of only a "Jackpot Reset" key and and a "Clear chip". I'm thinking you want a Clear123 chip as now is just about the only time you will ever need one. So don't pay too much for something you may never use again. If you've filled out your profile, maybe someone close to you can run one over for you to use? Naw!!! Of course not, you didn't fill out your profile! :30- Did you happen to notice the ads on the main page? These are all vendors that have parts and stuff. In fact, the owner of this website has a store. Try calling one of the phone numbers. If you have a bill acceptor. Using the Clear chip will disable it. You will need the proper SET chip to turn on the bill acceptor. What I mean the "proper" is determined by what SP you have installed on the MPU. Now you might have to buy one of those too. Uh, What's an SP chip? But I have been wrong before. Title: Re: Can't Clear 61 Post by: coorslight115 on January 17, 2011, 02:07:40 AM I don't think a 97 will work in an S+. But I have been wrong before. It will not He needs a Clear123 Then he can use : http://www.newlifegames.net/spset/SPSS.htm to tell us what chips he has and if he has abill validator, then we can advise if a set chip is needed and which one :89- :89- Title: Re: Can't Clear 61 Post by: stayouttadabunker on January 17, 2011, 02:51:23 AM Thanks guys...I was thinking of an S2000 Clear chip...another one - I've never needed.
Title: Re: Can't Clear 61 Post by: Puff on January 17, 2011, 03:18:18 AM OK, I ran through the Butter Knife exercise and got back to the "61 1" after holding the reset button.
After closing the door and turning the jackpot key, the "0" flashed once in the Coins Played window, then code 61 came back in the Left Window. I am in Canton, GA (about 30 miles NW of Atlanta) but don't mind buying the Clear Chip (guess I need one now). It does have a bill acceptor so I guess I am lucky enough to need the Set Chip too. The machine is set up for tokens instead of money so I would not be upset if the bill acceptor stays offline. As for the SS/SP chips - when I cycle the machine to "4" in the test window it only shows a "50 " in the Left Window (Winner Paid). No code in the Right Window (Credits). The labels have SS3742 on the Reel Prom chip and what looks to be SP 772 (The label on the SP chip has a piece missing) on the Game Prom chip. Title: Re: Can't Clear 61 Post by: stayouttadabunker on January 17, 2011, 03:39:40 AM Just about any of the vendors listed on top of the homepage
will have a Clear chip for your machine. Just give them a call in the morning and tell them what you have and what you want. Or Place an ad for your wants in the "Classifieds" section of NLG! You need this SET015 chip below to turn on the bill acceptor. it's the most popular for older chips.>>> IGT utility program SET005, SET015 or SET017 is required to modify the denomination and enable/disable the bill acceptor. Title: Re: Can't Clear 61 Post by: Puff on January 22, 2011, 02:21:34 PM Bought a clear chip and set chip from coorslight115.
Everything worked like a charm and the machine is now up and stealing tokens.... Thanks for everyone's help on this one!! |
