Title: Graphical problem with NEO-MVH-MV2
Post by: eurotronic on January 20, 2011, 01:21:16 PM
Hello everybody,
I just bought an Nstyl's cab with a 2 slots Neogeo on ebay  :91-
The add say"perfect state".. but..   :60-
I got sound and image problems.
For the sound, i read the neogeo repairs log from channelmaniac  :131-,and finally find out the problem (crapped pots)

But for my picture issue, its another pairs of sticks!..
I found a lot of info for fixing lined screens but i got DOTED SCREEN PROBLEM, and only on moving object
Like if i play a game let say, flip shot, when i move the man, no problem,
but when i shoot there is this strange dotting pattern appearing (photo above)

So this is what i have done so far:
-clean my cartridge and the motherboard with contact cleaner,(fixed sound problem)
-taking off the high score battery who as leaking all over
-clean up the crap made by the battery's acid, which is some line to "slot 2" port and "neo-zmc2" processor, with a tiny nylon brush
-reheat, the 74ls32p pin who seems highly oxidized

Can someone help my find out where the bug is hiding?

I join a pictures of the board and a game's screenshot for help

By advance, Thank You!

I'm glad you like my repair logs! :)

For that issue, check all the traces going to/from the NEO-ZMC2 chip, especially those plated-thru holes just to the right of the battery and those pesky solder connections on the ZMC2 chip itself.
