Title: Question on setup S2000
Post by: FORDSBS on January 23, 2011, 03:47:15 PM
Doing another game change. Got some questions.
What is the difference between WAMM & IPC?
Next how do you get display from what is on video

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ht4HDjQsFos (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ht4HDjQsFos)

to 2 line?
Thanks for help.

I asked the same question a few months ago regarding the display.  I don't think there were any replies.

I'm not sure how I got it. I put a new game in (Sizzling 7 Times Pay) and this is what I got.

Split screen display is determined by the version chip.  Put the one from your previous game in it and it will come back.

WAMM is a comm protocol for talking with backroom servers.  Not sure about IPC.

Thanks Tilt. Now you got me straight on that.

I think WAMM is "Wide Area Money Management" and
IPC is "IGT Progressive Controller".
Foster answers your other question below.
Tilt was on track as well!
However, the Version chips are more about determining whether your machine will have
multi-denomination capabilities rather than having a split VFD screen.

Here's a list of the Version chips>>>

The version PROM controls what is available to meet special jurisdictional
requirements and controls what certain features and options are available.
The label indicates STEPPER VERSION and the version number:

VERSION    DESCRIPTION
VS011CX0    single denomination –Colorado ONLY
VS011CX1    multi-denomination –Colorado ONLY
VS011GX0    single denomination
VS011GX1    multi-denomination
VS011GX2    multi-denomination with denomination-plus mode
VS011GX3    multi-denomination with fractional-cent
VS011IH0    single denomination –Netherlands ONLY
VS011IH1    multi-denomination –Netherlands ONLY
VS011IX0    single denomination –International
VS011IX1    multi-denomination –International
VS011NX4   single denomination –New Jersey ONLY
VS011NX5    multi-denomination –New Jersey ONLY

The Split display requires Game Chips that support it
SG 312,362,363
I did get VFD 02 and 07 to do the split pay using the above game chips.
There may be other SG chips that do it but those are the ones I have used.

I know this is an IGT S2000 right Fordsbs?
Why is the title of this thread called "Setup 6000"?
It's not a Bally 6000?  :103-
Or you meant like it's the 6,000th question on setting up an S2000?  :72-

ah that's okay Fordsbs!
I screw up ALL the time...  :97-

You got it working now like you want?
I just read the PSR sheet for the SG00312 chip you have.
I think you'll get the split display on the VFD screen if you have a certain VFD chip installed.
I'd stick in a multi-denomination Version chip like VS011GX1 as well...

Thanks Foster, I guess I just got lucky having SG chips installed that supported split screen.  I replaced older VS008SX0 and VS009GX0 with VS011NX5s and that enabled it on mine.

I think I'm going to keep it this way. It makes a different look on machine & my coin sound is different.

I have a weird combo in mine, VS009GX0 (AZ) and SG000116. I get the split display. On an earlier version I did not. Some people complain about the split display causing burn-in but there is no option to switch between the 2. I for one like the split display. The only SG chips that gave a scrolling display on the bottom to announce PRINTER PAID and the available denominations was the 598's.

I tried to change the title of my S2000 conversion thread the other day
to include the name of the game but the software only let me change the title of a single post...
That would I would have to change the title of every single post
and couldn't change other members' titles in that thread...arghh!! :7- :277-
I didn't know I needed ADMIN "tricks" to do that...oh well  :96-

It's basically screwed up anyways... :97-

ADD>>>Hey! You fixed it thanks!!!
