Title: I Need a Coil for my IGT Model # 1642 It's the coil that releases the reel. Post by: truleygood on January 26, 2011, 01:43:34 AM I have been repairing Amusement "STUFF" for over 20 years, but have always stayed away from SLOTS, until now. I've been getting alot of calls on IGT and Bally slots the last year or so. I've decided to jump in and learn about them. I need this BLASTED coil that makes the reel spin, the part number is A420-065571-00 785 w2. Can anybody help? Thanks Todd in Denver.

Do you know what model of machine are you working on? (Not the number printed on it, but the model -- M, S, S+? I'm guessing an M as the S/S+ uses stepper motors to spin the reels.) If you have a picture of the machine with the door open, we'd be able to determine which model of machine you have. Here's a pic of the insides. I was told it's a "M" . Each reel has a unit that pulls out along the side, each unit uses an opto and two coils . I need the coil that releases the reel and makes it spin. Thanks, Todd Title: Re: I Need a Coil for my IGT Model # 1642 It's the coil that releases the reel. Post by: poppo on January 26, 2011, 06:22:48 PM Well, if that is the right part number, it still crosses to a solenoid (which is the coil) and this place appears to have them unless someone has one laying around.

It looks like those have has some work done on them, and I see some jumpers on some of the flex cables. Title: Re: I Need a Coil for my IGT Model # 1642 It's the coil that releases the reel. Post by: Jim on January 26, 2011, 07:39:30 PM you can interchange the kicker assemblies from one to the other, put the suspect bad one in the forth slot and see if it will get down to that one. also inspect the round cork reset items at the other end of the kicker. If they are broke then the unit cannot reset.
the ribbon cable on these units caused a lot of intermittent problems, that's why some are hard wired. I'll check the resistance of the ones I have this evening. I have moved that kicker assy. in slots and different machines, and where ever I put it, it don't work. I did ohm out the ribbon connector and the coil all seem ok.
Thanks again |
