Title: SB chips?
Post by: BR549 Auto Sales on January 29, 2011, 02:49:00 AM
what are these exactly because I just upgraded mine for a Cleopatra and it gave me better sound than I had before. Will this work on other s2000 games as well? Sorry if this is a dumb question but I am new to slot machines and am still learning.

Thanks,

David

That's how we learn this hobby, no question is a dumb one.

The Base chip (SB) stores specific themes, paytables, virtaul reel stops, and physical stops.

The Game chip (SG) stores the sound, lights, coin validation, hopper operation, nudge & Haywire functions.
(Often used with many different SBs)

That's how we learn this hobby, no question is a dumb one.

I'll actually disagree with this, the dumb  question is the one that somebody didn't ask.

For instance: Should I power off  the machine before I do a game change on an S+?  :103- :103-

A friend bought a game kit and followed the instructions that came with it on how to swap it out, he wound up with a weird 8 on the display that had some segments brighter than the others.  :283- :5- :200- :279- :25-

Cost him a processor board AND a motherboard, and 2 hours of my time to find all the damage. :30- :30- Worst part? I told him I'd show him how to do the swap... :208-

So follow Ron's advice, ask every question you have and we'll give you the right answer so you can afford to buy more machines rather than fixing your existing ones. :88-
