I never have, but it's possible that some lighting gels (http://www.google.com/images?q=lighgting%20gels) might do what you need. There are some on eBay for reasonable prices. You could also try posting in the classifieds section on this site -- I'd bet that some vendors probably have a pile of them sitting around, and then you wouldn't have to worry about finding the right color/opacity and trimming them down to size. A question about candles: Is it possible to change the lamp in the candle to an LED lamp without causing problems ? LEDs are so directional that I don't think you'd get nearly the same effect of the candle lighting up as you would with a traditional bulb, Frank. The newer machines in the casinos do have LEDs in the candles, but they appear to be an array of them that are aimed to light up most of the candle area, not just one bulb. The candle uses the white insert and then whatever color insert you want to use around that. They are all pretty transparent. After looking at the inserts, I am fairly certain I have seen similar colored film at placed like Hobby Lobby or hobby shops.

The inserts are out there cheap...but if in a bind go to office depot or staples and by a colored transparent report cover. You know the things you put you book reports in for school !! It really looks nice when lit. I told my wife when lit I needed a beer. Still waiting after two years of the light being on.
