I have a few concerns and questions before I start just in case someone has some short cuts or insite. Or I need more stuff

I currently have a s2000 9"upright machine, short glass 5-5-2 credit meter and printer next to glass.

I bought a kit off Samron to finish off my collection of bonus reel stuff I needed to pull this off

First picture is the stuff I have, second is the machine as it is now. )other way around :279-)

It will be a Super Spin Sizzlin Sevens bonus reel game when done.  I have the correct software (other post)

Things I know about:

Replace 3 reel back lit controller with 5 reel version

Jump connector for cabinet i/o (picture one)

Extend printer harness to top box (2nd picture)

Re-route door harness for short glass meter to the long glass.

Change player tracking bracket to short one to accept top box printer

Install printer bracket and printer (1st question)  wires are in the way of the bracket :103-

Door optics and cherry switch question. New reel shelf will not accept this setup and they would be in the way of the bonus reel. Best way to relocate??

As for wires @ printer. Some of my machines have the connectors pulled from bracket so they will lay below bracket.

That is what I was going to do ! But wanted to ask first

For the optic switch & plate to contact cherry switch there should be holes in slide higher to mt. them.

optic on cabnet mount is part of cabnet. you'll have to make a bracket

The slide has the holes, but the cabinet edge is totally different

Look close @ pic. What they did was cut & bend out for optic.

FWIW, I moved all of my door optics to a convenient location so that I can easily work on the machine with the door open. I just stick a piece of cardboard between them when I need to simulate the door open. I know there are other ways to bypass the optics, but this keeps everything without modification and is easy to implement.

Is the cherry switch in question only for the light? or door open too? :103-

Not sure but that should not be to hard to move. There should be holes in side to mt where it goes.

Not sure about a S2000, but the S+ I recently got had a bunch of cherry switches (including on the door), but when I traced them all out, they were not even connected to anything anymore (maybe used for casino security at some point), so I just pulled them all out.

It at least turns the service light on and off.

I have an s2000 that has been converted to the 4th reel  ( just put the super spins sizzlin 7's in from samron's awesome game!) My bracket for the connectors to top cabinet where you are moving the printer to ,just hangs with a zip tie and no problems. The problem is trying to  figure something out for the satellite speaker wire before it gets smashed by the printer bracket. My wires run on top of the printer. Kind of fun when pulling the printer out and in, but keeps them from getting more smashed than they are. Good luck! Let me know if I can help or post  a picture of something.

When I put the printer after getting the proper bracket to fit in the top box
I just ran the wire under the printer and up the left side of printer and plugged it into the speaker connector.

There is enough room to get the wire and connector through on the left side.
If you position the connector correctly and feed enough wire though the connector will come within easy reach without any tools.

I planned this post as one I would like to see if I wanted to tackle this project. Everything in one post and place. Don't have to search around and wait for answers to known issues. Will do a software detail post after it all works.

OK here we go!!

Remove Reels, printer, printer bracket and cherry switch bracket with door optic mounted to it.

Remove 3 reel shelf and harness

Remove screw in top box for wire bracket and nut below, lower bracket and secuce with wire tie. Will hang low enough to clear printer bracket and not be in the way of anything else

Remove wire tie from left speaker wire bundle to gain extra wire lenght, this will allow the speaker harness to be placed upder and behind bracket or over... your choice

Test fit printer bracket for clearence and decide if you like the speaker wire over or under. I prefer over

secure printer bracket, install printer and player tracking bar support.

Plug in printer to same connector old printer was in. You might have to remove wire tie to allow the wire to reach.

Note: 2 pin connector on printer not used

Remove three reel backlit controller

Install 5 reel controller

Install 4 reel shelf and harness

Make connections to 5 reel backlit controller

Make 4th reel connections to motherboard.

Unplug current netplex connector that is shown in picture, plug in 4th reel harness in its place and connect the connector removed from mother board into remaining harness from 4th reel
(daisy chain)

Cherry switch/ door optic modification

Cut the bracket down as shown in picture

 Put bracket back in origanal location and drill 2 holes in new shelf to accept self tapping screws. This will not require any modification to door lock bar plate or optic mounting.

If you need to remover the 4th reel just remove the 2 mounting screws from the cherry switch bracket first.

remove old reel glass, credit meter and pull meter harness out from behind the reel light assemble.

Install new long glass and meter assembly and center meter to display windows and tighten down

First picture shows a connector from the old credit meter that is not used with this meter

Second picture shows the connector that went to the denom display light that is not used with this display

Top glass, printer and player tracking cover plate installed

Install  chips (sb101122, Sg 000399 and 58 sound simm) , did not clear chip  :60- :60-machine. Rebooted and cleared errors.

Did not have to key chip , multi denom still set as before, odds still the same and everything works ! :3- :88-

All done !

Just have to clean off all the grubby finger prints  :208- :208-

For Youtube you'll have to register first. There is a place to upload video. Then you take your video & upload it. It takes time to upload.
I'm not sure if there is another program you can use.
Maybe someone else will chime in with better advice,
