Title: 8724 back from the dead Post by: waltervan on February 10, 2011, 10:29:44 PM I just changed the battery in the access board and the machine fired up.
Is there any way to set this up for free play if not how hard is it to convert it to a token machine? How do i set this machine up are the games I see the only games or are there a list of games I can chose from? I am a total Nub to all of this any hints or tricks yall may know would help Thanks Title: Re: 8724 back from the dead Post by: knagl on February 10, 2011, 10:52:07 PM There is a demo mode, but you can only access that immediately after a clear. Once the machine has been "enrolled" for coin/bill use on a casino floor, it can't be reverted to the demo mode without the use of a clear (zero) chip.
Assuming you have a coin comparator in there, you should be able to replace the sample coin in there with a token and use tokens in your machine. If it's a quarter machine, be sure to use quarter sized (or close) tokens so the hopper will be able to correctly dispense them. It's been a while, but to get to the game setup section you'll need to have ALL of the access doors open. Open the belly door, the top door, AND slide out the logic drawer halfway or so. Then, turn the jackpot reset key, and sections of the menu that would previously give you a "Not Authorized" error will be more accessable. It does depend on your software as to whether or not you'll be able to change the games. On my old machine (which I no longer have) I was unable to make any changes to the available games when the game was enrolled. I've seen others, however, that would allow you to change which games were available. The best I can tell the mech has to be programed to take coins and mine is programed for .01, .05, .25 but not tokens and I have been unable to find any one to change it. I cant find the wiring harness to go from the type of the mech that has a sample coin to a board not sure what it is but its labeled Multi Coin Mech the mech I have is wired to the vertical plug with the clamps and the harness I need is the one on J73. Any ides where I could get one???

The pic of the board you posted shows that you have the wire that goes to the coin mech or cc plugged in? What's the number on that PAL chip (circled in green)? I have a friend who may be interested in the entire chipset, depending on the number on the PAL chip. Thanks in advance! My friend has the clear chips for 153 and 010, so anything else is unfortunately useless to him.
