Welcome to the site! :3- In case it may be a simple fix that won't require a housecall, can you explain in as best of a detail that you can provide, exactly what it is or isn't doing? (In other words, what makes you think it's broken? Does nothing happen when you turn the power switch on? Do lights come on but there's no other activity? Is anything displayed on the red LED displays on the front or back of the door to the right of the monitor?) The more specific details you can provide, the better we may be able to help you. I have offered to help him via email or other means if it doesn't work out.
