Title: screen calibration problems
Post by: rjpohl on December 10, 2008, 11:54:27 PM
GameMaker V7000.
After completing ramclear procedure it bypasses the screen calibration.   I followed the ramclear procedure and after setting the BV etc I thought it should go straight to the screen calibration.  This machine first show screen with games installed and then after a couple seconds goes to the screen where you set denomination.  Any suggestions????

thanks
Bob

It could be the mains you are using although every mains I have tried has brought up the calibration. When you are in the denom & min/max settings screens come up can you use the touchscreen or buttons only. If the touchscreen feature works for your settings and you are just bypassing the calibration, once you have set the machine up, with door open turn keyswitch and then press the calibrate touchscreen button.

I remember  "jumping"  screens... no calibration.  I don't remember if it was a board issue or  Mains issue.    I just remember  when I changed the board and Mains...  problem solved.

not much  help here... but  that's all I can offer.

I should probably add that the touch screen was working about a week ago.  It is sitting in my unheated garage and temp was about 45 degrees when I turned it on yesterday.  Could the cold temp. be a cause???

Just my 2 cents. Make sure to check dip #6 on sw #2, as this is for touchscreen. Are you saying the touch screen doesn't work now or just the calibration during setup? Depending on the mains, if you changed them, there may be jumper settings. Versions under 12 are different than those 12 and above. Does anyone here use versions less than version 12?

the touch screen doesn't work at all, the calibration screen is passed by durning set up.  It was working a few weeks ago.

The game will work without seeing the touchscreen from what I remember with no errors that pop up either.

I would try another screen / controller first.

Possible hardware issue with either one

I performed a safeclear and the calibration screen appeared.  completed calibration and set up, all was well.  Left on for 2 days and everything was OK, touch screen worked.  Turned it off for a few hours and when I turned it back on the touch screen wasn't working.  I checked the battery and it read 3.65vdc.  Would unplugging cause the touch screen to stop working??

thanks

All things are possible. Could be a temperature issue. Machines are use to being on 24/7, in a climate controlled casino.

We then move them, tinker with em, turn em on and off, and who knows what else.  I am sure a lot of machine problems/pleasures are our own doing. Answers usually surface here, and thank you NLG.

Rarely, my touchscreen goes out while playing, but have yet to figure what the cause is/was. As I use buttons for most games, I don't realize it until I want to change games via touchscreen. Turning machine off/on fixes my touchscreen issue.

Ricker, You were right turning on/off several times does cause the touch screen to work.  If anyone has an ideal on how to repair please let me know.

hi,i was wondering if you could help with my game maker touch screen issue? i have calibrated it 3 times by opening door and turning key then  going to screen calibration,i touch the four corners when it tells me,touch the four cross hairs when it tells me,then it says touch anywhere on the screen and when i touch it(more so the middle of the screen)it is a1/4 to 3/4 off from where i touched,if i run my finger down the middle of the screen it starts going to one side or the other like a triangle, any ideas?  thanks

I moved your second post here to keep all of the replies in one area. Our members read most all new posts so there is no need to double post. It only leads to confusion in keeping track of responses. I am sure that someone should be able to help you.
