Title: ChamII Link Progressive Down! Post by: Magicslots on March 12, 2011, 04:43:14 AM Thanks to Bunker, I got the wire fixed! :131- Now the ChamII boots up, runs through and displays the amount.
But when the S2k boots, I get a progressive link down msg. Do I need to go into the key chip menu and reset/change it? Or am I missing something else??? :103- Title: Re: ChamII Link Progressive Down! Post by: Foster on March 12, 2011, 05:08:31 AM That means the Ground and/or Serial Line is still broken. within second or so of fixing the wire, the machine will be operational.
The Serial line sends data to the machine Those 2 wires are the 2 closest together on the Cham II+ 13, 11, 3 is the coin in signal from machine to Cham II+ Also check those wires at the machine end. If you have it plugged into the Comm board. try moving it to the Motherboard Progressive connector it is the only 5 pin black connector along the edge of the board It is just below where the ribbon cable plugs into the motherboard. it will also work there) I know this very well my cham II+ controller was right below the Cash Can (yes it fits there nicely, but if I moved the controller and disturbed the wires. I did not have a perfect harness. it would do the same thing, and as soon as i wiggled the wires a bit, the machine would come right up. Title: Re: ChamII Link Progressive Down! Post by: Magicslots on March 12, 2011, 05:15:06 AM Thank you sir, that is good news! Well sort of...
I am good at a lot of things, but soldering tiny little wires is nowhere in my bag of tricks! :8- I am going to try to find the stuff tomorrow to see if I can make/repair the harness to get good connections... Then on to the next problem. When it was "working" it was not incrementing during play. Settings? switches? I am totally new to Mikohns, hell it took me quite a while to get my Spectrum working on my S+ :37- :37- :52- Title: Re: ChamII Link Progressive Down! Post by: Foster on March 12, 2011, 05:27:10 AM I would need to see a screen shot of PSP 2 or 3 if you have it.
Jackpot programming page I suspect you set the increment real low or not at all. or you forgot to set M08 and ms08 as shown at the bottom of the screen. Example: In my screen shot the increment is $0.01 or one cent. The mikohn works in currency values including the increment where as the S+ and S2000 (Spectrum's or Mini LED) base the increment as a percent of of the value of the credits being played. the mikohn if you want will allow you to increment the value more than denomination value unless denom is like $100 or more. Title: Re: ChamII Link Progressive Down! Post by: Magicslots on March 13, 2011, 12:26:44 AM Went to Fry's today to get fix-it stuff. They did not have the right size pins for the connector. With the help of my father
who can solder like a SOB! we redid the connections. Came home, plugged it in and crap! :8- Link Down. Pulled the pins out of the connector, plugged them in individually, coverd them with shrink wrap for insulation and Voila! :25- Progressive now up and running!!! YEA... Now if anyone has the book/file PSP for Dummies.. :5- I'm in :72- Title: Re: ChamII Link Progressive Down! Post by: Foster on March 13, 2011, 12:53:10 AM Until you get more comfortable only deal with the jackpot programming for now
Ignore the Hidden Jackpot and Increment 2 lines, the rest will be familar to you if you did Spectrum or Standalone programming on your S+ or S2000 See the F1, F2, F3 those are the Function keys on your keyboard. I know Windows and keyboard makers may assign them to do other things, except when a DOS based program is running. F1 SEND means send or upload the current page settings to the Controller F2 LOAD means get or download current page settings from the controller F3 should be SNGL F4 M-08 F5 3sec F6 JP0 - this is jackpot group 0 is standalone When you are accessing he menu on Cham II+ by the switch and bottons on it it should be SA. F7 $$$ F8 MS08 Other than the amounts I am using, if you make rest match my setting you should be good to go. I can connect the Cham II+ I have for the S2000, I am using the Spectrum II. Title: Re: ChamII Link Progressive Down! Post by: Magicslots on March 13, 2011, 01:48:13 AM I just got a copy of the program today. Do I run it at a DOS prompt? or is it windows compatible? :103-
Title: Re: ChamII Link Progressive Down! Post by: Foster on March 13, 2011, 01:55:49 AM it is a DOS program
Win 95, 98, XP it will work just fine. Vista and 7 may or may not let it run or deny it direct access to the hardware. Title: Re: ChamII Link Progressive Down! Post by: stayouttadabunker on March 13, 2011, 01:59:58 AM Do a search for the serial cabling connection from the Mikohn unit
to your PC in the Mikohn section of the Forum. I remember posting pictures of it in there a couple a years ago. You will find out how the serial cabling needs to have a couple of pins jumped at the PC end for the handshaking to work. Offhand, with selective memory, I think it was pins #1 & #5 :103- |
