Title: power supply repair where to start? Post by: junkman on March 13, 2011, 11:58:33 PM I have 4 bally 5000 plus power supply and one more machine to get going . and of course all 4 of them the are dead and i would like to get one going myself. where should i start with this repair . someone said i should start with the caps. OK what are caps and should i replace them all can you guide me in the right direction. :30-
Title: Re: power supply repair where to start? Post by: reho33 on March 14, 2011, 12:43:30 AM The "caps" are those can looking things that that may have a blue colored plastic cover on it. They have 2 leads that attach to the circut board. Unsolder them and pull the cap up and out. Look it the value (it may say 4700uF) that stands for microfarad which is a measure or capacitance. I think that I saw a recap kit for S2000 power supplies, the kit will have all of the caps that you need and just change them out one - by- one. I don't remember where the link was but just search it. Hope that helps.
