Title: power supply repair where to start?

I have 4 bally 5000 plus power supply and one more machine to get going . and of course all 4 of them the are dead and i would like to get one going myself. where should i start with this repair . someone said i should start with the caps. OK what are caps and should i replace them all can you guide me in the right direction.   :30-

The "caps" are those can looking things that that may have a blue colored plastic cover on it. They have 2 leads that attach to the circut board. Unsolder them and pull the cap up and out. Look it the value (it may say 4700uF) that stands for microfarad which is a measure or capacitance. I think that I saw a recap kit for S2000 power supplies, the kit will have all of the caps that you need and just change them out one - by- one. I don't remember where the link was but just search it. Hope that helps.

Dont forget to pay attention to the polarity of the caps when you take the old ones out.

Be sure to put the new ones with the polarity correct or you will have smoke.
