Title: Game King 19" monitor Post by: Buzz on March 18, 2011, 02:50:21 AM Any one know the best/easiest way to remove the touch screen from a 19" Game King monitor? Joey told me to cut the tape and let it sit in the sun for a couple of days. I think he forgets he lives in a oven ! I did get one off today but a awful lot of work. :7- :7- :277- :277-

I am not sure leaving in the sun will do any good until the summer hits. Dave I really don't want to talk about the two I broke, one of them after 2 hours of working on it. I was using a razor knife and a hacksaw blade, also had it close to a heater ( the glass was to hot to leave your hand on it for very long.) I was just taking the hacksaw blade with the teeth facing me and pull out a little of that gummy tape one small piece at a time. If you ever find a old choke cable from a car or truck, pull the insides out and throw away the outside housing away. Cut it to a useable length and bend a hook on the end. I think this will help remove the nasty tape. ( also will work real good for fishing wires inside a slot machine. I have one more monitor with a cracked touch screen I can experiment with. I'm going to put it in my freezer over night. I hope the tape will get hard like I fed it 200 mg. of Viagra and the hacksaw blare will cut right through it. Naturally I will make a starting point for the blade before freezer time. It doesn't exactly cut it, more like pulls it out, but it works. I haven't broken one in a few years now.
