Title: Bill Validator & Processor Frequency Question Post by: dismirlian on March 18, 2011, 01:06:21 PM Hello, this is my first post to NLG.
Browsing the SP & ST List, I noticed two Bill Validator protocol IDs apart from ID022 and ID023: versions "ID 2.4" and "ID 2.5". Are these aliases for ID022 and ID023, or are they totally different protocols? Also, another question: If I want to use a 10MHz SP chip in a 16MHz motherboard, will it be enough to change the crystal to 10MHz? Thanks in advance for your help! Regards, Diego. one thing that I do not think will not work is sound, since the 16Mhz board uses software volume control, and the 10 has a physical volume control. Title: Re: Bill Validator & Processor Frequency Question Post by: stayouttadabunker on March 18, 2011, 03:10:13 PM Diego,
To be on the safe side, I'd seriously recommend that you just find a cheap 10MHz MPU board on ebay or place an ad here in the "Classifieds" section of NLG - instead of screwing around with the IC components on an16MHz MPU board! :182- At least you can be assured that you won't burn anything up. :98- There are many more differences between the 10MHz and 16 MHz boards besides the crystal... :214- Title: Re: Bill Validator & Processor Frequency Question Post by: dismirlian on March 21, 2011, 04:21:21 PM Dear Foster and stayouttadabunker, thanks for your answers!
Any clues as to "ID 2.5"? Thanks again, Diego. |
