Title: midway extra bases black and white monitor
Post by: bikerman on March 28, 2011, 12:22:48 AM
I have a midway extra bases black & white monitor the won't focus in all the way. I am not sure if the caps are bad or if the monitor is shot. I tried adjusting the contrast and brightness, but no luck. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Check for a bad connection on the high voltage diode... it's between the flyback and the CRT.

Focus problems can be caused by the guns in the neck of the CRT also. This results from carbon build on the guns and/or deterioration of the guns themselves. If you've got a TV repair shop close by, take the CRT in and see if the have a tester/rejuvinator they can put on it to check it for you.
