Title: BALLY 5500 - reading program id on U18/U20
Post by: FOXSSLOTS1 on March 30, 2011, 05:02:19 PM
I have a bunch of u18/u20 eproms for 5500 - cannot read the tags - is the srmi# or program id on the eprom somewhere?  I looked and unable to find on my programmer.

Not that I have been able to find.  :8-

Maybe someone else knows the secret handshake.

Hi Barry,
I've been tied up lately, but will answer this a little later. It is inside the code.

kind of figured that - there isn't very much on these chips when you look at them - I tried various searchs for parts of id all to no avail.  appreciate the update.

I have a a ProVideo V5500 and is looking for extra games but
all the chips I find have no info as to what the game is.
Is there a list of the game to chip number available
like there is for the IGTs?
What does the numbers on the chips mean?

Thanks
Paul

The U20 has half of the part number and the U18 has the rest.  They alternate with the E in U20 being first, next digit from U18, next from U20 etc.  see the following pics.  I like using the easypro software myself.

The part number for this example is E859011X-05  which makes it SMI 2022

Thanks,
Wayne
