She did steal over $500,000, which is nothing to sneeze at, and is devastating to the family involved, but it's over the top to say that she "lost" $14 Million, since she "won" over $13 Million.
That'd be like saying that I "lost" $1,500 on my last casino visit (but I "won" $1,400). (I lost $100 the last time I went to the casino.)
