Title: BALLY CONTINENTAL COIN MULTIPLIER PROBLEM
Post by: HOMEARCADE on April 12, 2011, 04:45:01 AM
Someone gave me a Bally Continental slot machine.  When only playing one coin, it works fine.  If you play more than one coin, it will accept the coins but give you credit for only 1 coin.  The machine will pay out properly for only 1 coin regardless of how many coins inserted.  Can anyone give me an area of the machine that i should start looking at for this problem.

In the top, there is a big stepping switch that counts the coins in. First coin causes it to reset, after which it steps up for each coin. For some reason it isn't stepping up. Maybe it's jammed, maybe the step-up coil is burned out, maybe the reset coil is stuck in, or maybe the mechanical detents are sticky with dirt and grease and the ratchet isn't holding it.

I'm having the same problem with the same machine. It will read the coins on the feature unit. But as you said will pay only for one coin.

Any luck on resolving this problem?  I would bet that the problem is in that huge head unit.

I haven't been able to fix this problem yet either.
