Title: SP 1271 chip in my S plus machine
Post by: BR549 Auto Sales on April 16, 2011, 11:54:24 PM
Is it possible to set different sounds or song/melodies on this s plus game now that I have a 1271 chip in it. Seems like I read one time here that upon a hit, it would play a short melody such as "we're in the money" and 6 or 7 other melodies as well.

Thanks,

David

1271 can only play only one melody and it is only played during a respin for games that support it..
they took out the extra melodys to make room for more accounting stuff.

So which SP chips will allow for the different melodies?

I believe the last one would be 1048 if my memory is correct.

Will a 1048 work with only specific games?

Only certain bonus games like Corel reef and such played the tunes during their bonus spins. No type 0 games had bonus songs!

Exactly -- only Spin 'Til You Win type games (Coral Reef, Spin 'Til You Win, 4th Of July, Bullseye, and perhaps some other clones that I can't think of) (Types 4 and 5 only, I believe) have the ability to play different tunes, and only when they're in the Spin 'Til You Win mode.  Normally they play the same boring S+ spin tune that every other S+ game has.
