Does anyone know what causes a "invalid sprite entry" on boot?
Only does it when trying to install Outback Jack or Mr Woo.

Have you had these games load before? Do other games load on the same XP and extender board?

I can load other games with the extender.Can it be because I dont have a upper screen is the reason it isnt working?Or its because Mr Woo and Outback are progressive games?Mr Woo dont use the extender but I get the same error.

You require a video pcb which adds onto the mainboard, it can then be jumped so it thinks you have the top screen,
also of course must be XP board & you have correct system eproms.

I have a XP board.The system chips should be good.

Do you have a PMC video board you want to sell?
Where does the board plug into on the XP board?

I am fairly sure it plugs into the side socket, L1 much like the MK5 system board plugs into the MK5 boards. I am looking for one as well, but I am not sure whether it will plug into mine due to the clearance within the logic cage. I here is a picture.

Also I have tried loading games which require a second screen. On the second page of loading it tells me to install this board before shutting down.

Adding the video board corrected the sprite error.
It boots up and I can configure the game but it wont let me play because it says top monitor disconnected.
Can someone please tell me what you need to jump out to make it think the 2nd monitor is connected?Its a MVP540 backplane.Do I need to convert to the MK6 backplane?

Hey, it uses a simple loop back. It's listed in the manuals as a spare mech switch, Aussie version is P3 Pin B2. USA Version its JP21, B2.

 On the aussie backplanes it's acutally on the P27 plug -  Pin 9 just ground that. (I just join pin 9 & 10 with a little wire). Then you from memory might need to press the jack/pot reset to clear the error.

Otherwise all the mark6 boards are pretty much the same (USA/International/Aussie) so if you have a USA backplane and cant trace where B2 on the JP21 goes, then you could just mod the actual board. I am looking now to compare the USA and Aussie manuals to see where they have moved it too. I think some International Excite boards are the same anyway as aussie boards, do you have a P27 on the backplane with "Handle Spare COMM8".

I just jumped out the XP board instead of the backplane.B1 was a ground,so it was just a small wire from B1 to B2.

I dont have the P27 plug,thats for a Mark6 backplane,mine is a MVP 540.

I have since changed my backplane to a MK6 so I could add a top monitor.Just mounted a regular PC monitor in the top.Still have to use the jumper.
