Title: S2000 multi denom issue
Post by: BR549 Auto Sales on April 19, 2011, 02:39:27 PM
I have a extra button installed on the machine, but it does not light up, possibly have it hooked up wrong, and I have gone through the key chip config. set up according to directions, but when finished, I still do not have the multi set up. I am trying to set it up at:
.25
1.00
5.00
10.00

Is it possible that my sb is not set up for this or possibly the sg chips(I'm using 363s) or perhaps something else on my main board, which is the enhanced version.

Thanks,

David

Does the VFD give you a display every now and then of the denominations available (usually on the bottom)

Also a clear picture of the denom switch would be very helpful.

Black wire to bottom terminal of switch
yellow with orange stripe wire next terminal up on the switch (top terminal is not connected)
red wire to one terminal of light
blue with orange stripe wire to other terminal of light.

In fact all your switches are wired this way (6 or 7 button decks) the only difference is the color of the stripe on the blue and yellow wires.

Looks like it matches what I have

You added the values to the 7.1.1.3 player denom and also enabled them in 7.1.2 game selection?
In 7.1.2 they can all be the same percentage if you so desire.

I know some have the highest denom have the highest percentage and have it step down as you go to the next lowest denom
Example
$1.00 98.xx percent
$0.50 96.xx percent
$0.25 95.xx percent
$0.10 94.xx percent

I remember putting the values in on 7.1.1.3 but I may not have enabled them, how do I do that?

Thanks

Go into 7.1.2 (key chip required)
Change button cycles through the denoms
Cash out cycles through the paytable or payback percentages

ok, probably a dumb question here but: Do I leave the key chip in while i do this? The instructions I have says to pit the keychip in, wait for the 2 amber light to come on, then power down and remove the key chip and re install my sb chip then power back up, and start into the key chip config mode after the machine cycles.

Do the key chip as you described.
do not leave it in.

Key chip is a software key that unlocks the key menu and locks the rest of the menus, until you exit the key menu fully.

ok, just did the key chip and set player denoms at .25 1.00, 5.00, 10.00. Then I set game selection for the highest percentage for the 10.00 setting down to the lowest % setting all the way down to .25. Do I need to set my original demoniation at something other than .25? accounting denom at .25? and coin denom at .25? That's the way it is set and perhaps that is the problem. Shouldn't the multi denom button still light up regardless? I dont know if this matters or not but where the coin value light/display is on the front of my machine, it cycles like there should be a 4 button touch screen there. Is the machine possibly set up for that touchscreen and not a deck button?

Have you set up any thing under the touch pad  in the key menu.
IF so you might have to disable it in the same menu (disabled is shown by disabled or ---- showing for that option)

I am experiencing the same issue with my reel touch. The button wont light and the touch pad cyles thru the lights. Going into key chip menu there is no way to disable the touch pad.

same here, I was able to disable touchpad button 2,3 and 4 but not 1. T would disable it, press max bet, but it (#1) was still enabled.

Yep. And the button doesnt light. If you go into i/o test and test the button the button is working.  Hmm

Are all your touchpad buttons not working? When I got my reel touch the 2 buttons on the right hand side didn't work and when I got to looking at the circuitry on the back of the touchpad I found that 2 six leg transistirs had been chipped off. Also double check to make sure the plug from the pad to the light board is plugged tight and correctly.

I don't need my touch pad to work, just my extra button to the right of my max bet button.

I don't have a touchpad. I just want the button to work also :37-

Have you tried unplugging the touchpad and the backlighting from the segment display? Could be the machine sees it's plugged in and won't allow 2 denom selection devices plugged in simultaneously

They one question and answer I don't see here :186- is :  What version chip are you running???  Unless I missed it :279-

Version chip shouldn't be a problem. If the programming allows you to set up multi-denom then it's already the right chipset. If it was a single denom chip the options wouldn't be in the menu.

Doesn't hurt to ask....Version chip can not end in a "0" for those who don't know

Unplug those the touchpads.

I also think this is a good thing to check, should there be a conflict.

Well I unplugged the touchpad harness, key chipped the machine, set all my values again, same results................ When I tried again to delete the touchpad buttons in the menu mode, it lets me diaable 2,3 and 4, but not 1? I am setting 7.1.1 denom to .25, 7.1.1.1 accounting denom to .25 and 7.1.1.2 coin denom to .25.
I am setting my 7.1.1.3 player denoms as follows:
player 1   .25
player 2   1.00
player 3   5.00
player 4   10.00

I am setting all of the percenatages to game 1 @ 98.2%

What else could it possibly be?

It is also not showing all of the denoms on the display, just the .25 only

Are you saying you only have one denomination set in 7.1.1.3?
If so then change 7.1.1.3 to all 4 denominations you want to use as well.

My reel touch has wiring for a multi-denom button next to the max credit button also and it doesn't work either. It may simply be that IGT didn't modify the harness to eliminate the wiring though they changed the software to not recognize it. At the very least it may take some kind of jumper plugged into the segment display to allow the push button to work. You might could trace the wirind back from the push button to the motherboard to make sure they didn't leave it unplugged or disabled somehow. Worst case? You're stuck with using a touchpad

The wiring for the player buttons do not go back to the motherboard directly.
The harness for the player buttons, Coin handling, LED player Display actually goes to the large connector at the bottom of the door I/O board.

The Door I/O board is connected to the motherboard by a 12 wire harness that goes to the door I/O SENET connector on the motherboard.

When you say touchpad harness, do you mean the wide connector that plugs into the segment display?

Wonder if it would make a difference nuking (clearing) the machine and starting from scratch with the touchpad disconnected?

and if I'm reading this and past posts correctly, it sounds like you need a 663 diplay for touchpad games and pushbutton denom games have 552 displays. Might it be a guy would have to switch back to a 552 to get the button to work? Just another thought...

Or send me the machine, if I get it working, I'll test it for a couple years and send it back COD :72- :72- :72-

Do you have another machine with regular muti-denom setup you can swap the board into for a test?

Just a Cleopatra 9 line-90 credit, I don't think that will do. it has not got the touchpad behind the reel glass though, it has been replaced with a single lamp socket to light up the denom.

You might borrow the 552 diplay from it for a test :103-
