WHAT'S A QR CODE? A QR Code (it stands for "Quick Response") is a mobile phone readable barcode that's been big in Japan forever, broke into Eurpoe a while back, and is now getting traction in USA. In it's simplest sense think "print based hypertext link" - simply encode a URL into the QR Code and then point a mobile phone (or other camera-enabled mobile) at it. If the device has had QR Code decoding software installed on it, it will fire up its browser and go straight to that URL. But it doesn't stop there - a QR Code can also contain a phone number, an SMS message, V-Card data or just plain alphanumeric text, and the scanning device will respond by opening up the correct application to handle the encoded data appropriately courtesy of the FNC1 Application Identifiers that are embedded in the encoded data. http://zxing.appspot.com/generator/ (http://zxing.appspot.com/generator/) Title: Re: Will Your Smart Phone Rat You Out? Post by: Yoeddy1 on April 21, 2011, 05:43:05 PM Boy, I guess I had better stop inviting other women over to my house during my lunch hour! The world is going to go up in flames, I swear.
My wife and I are iPhone only users at this point. We have done away with our land line. It didn't make sense to pay 600 bucks a year (that's local calls only) when all it was getting used for was to field phone solicitors and garbage. My older son has a cel phone too in our plan. What it all boils down to is trust. Soon, nobody is going to trust anybody anymore and you'll start seeing more boyfriends, girlfriends, spouses, kids, etc getting beaten up, killed as was discussed in the first video. All boils down to how you are raised, how you are raising your family, and common sense. Personally, I don't trust that many people, but how can a marriage survive if there isn't an ounce of trust and you're constantly putting surveilance on your spouse or vice-versa? Protect your kids, but do it right. If you want to track their whereabouts, let them know you're doing it and why. I'm not nieve, and I know my kids will do some of the stupid things that I did, but good God, this is getting crazy...hence my comment about the world going up in flames soon. Jason |
