Title: Enjoy a "Triple Double Wild Cherry" soda!!! (Photos and Video!!!)
Post by: Yoeddy1 on April 28, 2011, 12:38:16 AM
Whenever I see "Wild Cherry" themes, I always want a Shasta "Black Cherry" soda for some reason! :208-

Anyway, I picked this one up the other day and interestingly enough, I've never played one in a casino.  As many of you probably already know, the "Cherry" games have interesting ways of paying out.  "Wild Cherry" symbols count on the payline and also on the "position lines" which are above and below the middle payline.  I will be ordering the black "position line" reel glass later this week.  VERY unique theme with some VERY nice design and colors on the glass.

Enjoy the photos and video!

Thanks,
Jason

Are there any multimedia sounds available in the settings for this slot, or is like a 3x 4x 5x slot?

Depends on the chip.  The one that I have (latest version) does not unlock the preferred/MMLB Generic sounds.  The earlier version does, but according to Mr. Jim at Blue Ridge, the earlier version unlocks the sounds, but there is an issue with a random BAR or Blank lighting up for no reason...it was an issue that was fixed in the current version that I have, but for some reason IGT didn't unlock all of the sounds.

16" with progressive, topper, brand new backlit strips and plays multimedia sounds with no issues!   :71-

I also love the fact that my progressive colors match the colors of my game.

So Rob, which SB version do you have in yours?  The SB100313 or SB100664?  I'm running the 64 in mine.  Do you not see the funky light thing I'm talking about in yours?  That's one nice machine you have there man.

Just checked "the list" and I also see:

Triple Double Wild Cherryâ„¢ Spinning Reel
3-Reel, 1-Line, 3-Credit Multiplier
S2000 - Spinning Reel   7,500
SB100313
SB100664
SB101353

I wonder if that SB101353 is even more up to date?

Found out that the 1353 is a FL jurisdiction...probably close to impossible to get, and I honestly don't know if it's a different than the other two chips.  Hopefully some other owners of this theme can share experiences with the behavior of the earlier chip.  However it shakes out, my wife loves this game...bonus points for me!

When a slot machine chip has a certain jurisdiction, what exactly does that mean and why would one jurisdiction sb chip have different multimedia sounds than another?

Thanks Rob.  So it looks like I'm going to have to order the other chip out of morbid curiosity.  Maybe it's only an issue with the 3 coin version.  More to come...

Docs attached to show info about lighting issue that to most wouldn't be an issue, but have learned if you don't want your sac torn off here you need to have a plan, and SB100312 is 2 coin, 313 is the 3 coin and has Enhanced Sounds

Good to know, but I have been playing the 2 and 3 coin versions of these chips for two years + now and can tell you I have never experienced any lighting issues.. Of course now that I say that, I will probably run into it shortly!   :96-

Now the old SB for Black Leather Wild thing... That bastard had issues! LOL!

This is why I am showing the proof as I was "Chastised" by a few members on that wild Thing  SB, it was fine when the newer one wasn't out but as soon as one person got it and showed it off then it was said (incognito) I had done several wrong, had to make it right (which I did) and was a dumb mother f'r, like I made the damn chip in the first place, this is why I made it clear in the very first email last week to an individual about this, but hey it is what it is, next week that kit will be forgot about

You couldn't do much about the sound problem, but I generally remove the lights from the upper and lower sockets on single line games simply because they aren't needed and don't shut completely off. In this case it would alleviate much of the problem

Yep...thought the same thing with the lights.  Unless you get a Double or Triple WC symbol on the upper or lower position lines...they wouldn't light up.

I'm also curious what the other chip will do with the unlocked sounds in terms of the symbol reactions.  Maybe Rob will chime in again, but the 7's don't light up or make any sounds on the first reel, second reel, third...progressively as they hit.  Not a big deal.

That's a good point Jason, I forgot about those paying off center. I'll have to see what mine does next week when I get it. All in all, I think I'd rather have enhanced sounds and faulty lighting than generic sounds and right lighting.

Doesn't do any good to guess, but something else I was wondering is if it DID NOT happen on one machine but DID on another and they both have the same SB chip, is there anything else that could control that behavior?  Different revision of MPU, version chips, game chips, motherboard, etc?  I guess where I was going is if the SB chip and firmware tech bulletin that Jim attached was released in 2004 (or whenever), and later IGT released a new MPU (or whatever) x months years later, could another updated pcb/chip control this or is it solely controlled by the game chip?

Just a thought to twist our minds.

Jason

Yoeddy,
Probably the only thing to do is get an SB chip like Rob's.  :89-

I'm really surprised IGT put that out - thanks for showing us how lousy that looks.  :3-
It probably WAS made for plain reels without reel lights or back-lit strips.

Well, despite the fact that mine has documented issues, they are small (so small that I have not noticed them in two years) compared to the WT Black Leather. With that said, I will keep mine as is. I prefer the enhanced sounds on this game.

Also having my kit in a gold cabinet with a gold topper makes it look that much better. It really is one of the better looking/playing three reel games out there IMHO.
Here is a picture of the game with the flash so you can see the cabinet. I just need a gold plated coin head...  ;-)

Well guys, the new (older) version SB arrived today.  After playing around with it for about 30 minutes, I have yet to see any strange lighting issues.  Enhanced sounds are configurable now as well.  I still wonder if it was able to be fixed via some other means per an earlier post that I had made like another chip or board revision.  The reason I say this is because, if I were casino manager for a day, and IGT sent me "fixed" SB, but now locked out all of my custom sounds after I paid for a bunch of DSV00042's, I'd be calling BS on that...especially if that's what my customers prefer and that's why I spend the extra money for customized sounds.

Anyway, I'll post up another video later!

Thanks,
Jason

Might be somewhat related but when I was in Casino de Montreal, any fancy theme that I played had no enhanced sounds, none. (Guess they didn't think that it would make you gamble more LOL).

Yeah, and my last visit to good 'ol Jackpot, Nevada, almost all of the S2000's that I played in Cactus Pete's and Barton's had DSV00042 (preferred) set on them...in a one-horse town like that!  I guess you never know.

When I was at Foxwoods in CT a couple of weeks ago, I noticed that
mostly all of the S2000's had "generic" sounds.
That was disappointing to hear really.
Then I heard one machine with "enhanced" sounds that some lady was
playing near me - it was just an DSV00042 simm though.
Nothing special...

What's really shocking to see is how many of the machines have such faded strips.
They look like junks really...

Great looking Machine,

Side Bar,
The Triple Double Wild Cherry machines in the Mountains of Co. all have the 0042 or Generic.
My understanding they are either 0042 or nothing.

I've been trying to get that kit for almost a year. You guys already have hit the Jack Pot.
Nice Job.
