Hello Everyone,

We're closing in on answering all of my questions. I'm thinking I know the answer to this question, but I want to make sure.

During my testing and fixing. I found that when playing the machine, I drop a quarter into the coin drop to play, but when I have a winning hand, the machine doesn't drope coins. It only adds credits, and if I hit the "Cash Out" nothing happens. I'm guessing that I need to add more coins to the hopper. Currently, there's only about $60.00 in the hopper right now during my testing.

From your other thread, I'd suspect that the "cash out" button isn't registering right now.  Your hopper will attempt to pay out, even if it's empty.  $60 is more than enough for it to work properly.  As mentioned in the other thread, go into the switch test and see if the button is registering.  If it's not, check the wiring, and the physical position of the button (make sure that the microswitch is actually getting pressed down when you press the plastic "cash out" button).

You may also want to try a continuity test on the switch to make sure that it's closing when you press the button (with the power off, of course).

Thanks for the quick reply. When I can sneak away from the wife, I’m going to reconfigure the wiring for these buttons to the correct configuration, as well as check the buttons with my meter.

But I’m still trying to figure out why when playing the machine. When I get a wining hand, the machine just shows it as credits and doesn’t dispense coins for the winnings?

As a side note, when I checked the machine out before I bought it and moved it home, did pay out coins on a wining hand. Is this a configuration of the machine that I need reconfigure for some reason?

This is a setting, well at least on my machine, which is accessed by pressing the white test button on the PCB tray located on the inside left of the machine.

On mine, you press the button twice and it will get you to a screen with the word 'CREDIT' and an arrow next to it. Turn the Jackpot Reset key and this will change to 'NON CREDIT'. If you keep turning the key it will change back and forth between the two. Credit will add credits up in the machine until you press cash out (or reach the hopper limit which you can also set in another of these options screens) and Non Credit will just pay out everything when you win it.

I assume you did get a jackpot reset key? It fits into a lock located usually at the top right hand side of the machine on the outside.

What Paul said.  Also, it's possible that your machine may be configured where the player can select credit or non-credit mode by pressing the "cash-credit/cash out" button prior to play.
